Not loving your job? Lhakpa Sherpa has a suggestion: spend a week or two on Everest and see how you feel when you get back!

With 11 Everest summits, Lhakpa holds the world record for the most climbs by any woman. She also calls West Hartford home and leads weekend hikes open to anyone who wants to join.

We were glad to welcome her to New Haven as our 2026 Visionary Leadership Award honoree. Here’s a moment from her conversation with Dr. Quan Tran at Canal Dock Boathouse.
