MEET YOUR 2026 LONG BEACH PROFESSIONAL ARTIST FELLOWS!

Five artists. Five distinct voices. One shared commitment to the transformative power of art.

These artists work tirelessly to create, question, document, inspire, and share their talents with the world. Through their individual practices, they help shape the cultural landscape of Long Beach, preserving our stories, challenging perspectives, and opening doors for future generations.

✒️ @ky_phong.paul.tran - Writer
Using the written word to explore identity, preserve stories, and deepen our understanding of the human experience.

🖌 @eric.almanza.art — Painter
Using imagery, and visual expression to challenge perspectives and invite us to see the world through a different lens.

📷 @deadendbrigade — Photographer
Capturing moments, people, and places that become part of our collective memory, preserving the stories of our communities.

✏️ @jamesmakesart — Illustrator
Bringing imagination and storytelling together through illustration, creating visual worlds that communicate beyond time and space.

🎬 @xtine.elaine — Multimedia Artist
Using documentary storytelling, film, and multimedia to amplify creative voices, celebrate underground culture, and preserve the artistic histories that might otherwise go untold.

WHY FUND THE ARTS?

Because art is more than decoration. It is education. It is resistance. It is connection. It is a record of who we are and who we have been.

Art teaches us to question, to empathize, to imagine possibilities beyond our own experiences. It gives a voice to the unheard, preserves the stories of the overlooked, and reminds us that culture is not simply something we consume. It is something we create together.

Thank you to @artslb for continuing to amplify and celebrate the abundance of art and culture that permeates this great city.

You can catch the PAF Exhibition November 14th at The Billie Jean King Main Library, Curated by @anna_katrina_art

Keep your 👀 peeled for further details.
