The exhibition of all the projects initiated by @edinburghshoreline is open now at the @vinetrust in Port of Leith. Great to see the culmination of all the community workshops in Fife Edinburgh and East Lothian. So@many interesting comments and suggestions from the communities - the people who live and work in each place.
Free exhibition open Friday 18 and Saturday 19 Sept only.

That’s this big project done! Three community led discussions and map art and citizen science activities in three Fife locations. Views, comments and requests will be discussed with relevant organisations and businesses in September followed by a showcase of the community created maps in Edinburgh in late September. Date and venue TBC

Join me in St Monans for a #papermaking session with #seaweed on either Sat 22 (beginners/children over 8 £35) or Sun 23 August (adults £45) at the Bowhouse 10-12noon

This is part of a programme supporting Land & Sea -a major summer exhibition bringing together seventeen contemporary artists whose work explores our enduring relationship with landscape, coastline and the natural world. Presented at Bowhouse in the East Neuk of Fife, the exhibition forms part of the international celebrations marking the bicentenary of photography in 2026.

Opening Saturday 15 August for a coffee morning preview 10-5pm - free entry with refreshments!

Prepping materials and prompts for tomorrow’s free community engagement and citizen science session in Dreel Halls Anstruther 10.30-4pm

Join us for a marine plastics beach survey, discussion about the shoreline and a creative interactive session with a storyteller and me.

It’s an opportunity to visualise your experiences and ideas for the future with others. We will be using large maps of the local area as our starting point.

The resulting artworks will be shown in Aberdour 19
August.

Looking forward to Shifting Baselines - a citizen science and community engagement workshop focusing on people’s connection to the water and their relationship to it.

This workshop at Aberdour Silver Sands will help to capture local communities’ relationship to the water and help to provide valuable insights to support future legislation and initiatives in the area.

This free event starts with an oyster survey on the beach, followed by an expert information session and storytelling.

There will be 3 large scale maps of the local area, based on past / present / future.

Our professional artist (that’s me!) and team will facilitate a session to probe and question around your connection to the local area and water.

Drawing breath and taking stock after over almost 200
people aged 8-80 joining my workshops in the last 12 months. Here’s some of the fabulous work they’ve made.
Inspiring!

Now gathering my energy for the next 6 months. Looking forward to interesting projects with Fife Coast and Countryside Trust and Ninewells Hospital Community Garden and workshops with art clubs. Plus 3 days at Anstruther Harbour Festival and a trip to Dunbar Art Route.

And I’ve decided to connect to the water in a new way and learn to sail at Newburgh Sailing Club!
