Adaptive resistance + eccentric training is a powerful combination when the goal is to create a high-quality strength stimulus while matching resistance more closely to what the body can produce throughout the movement. During the eccentric phase — when the muscle is lengthening under load — we are typically capable of handling more force than during the concentric phase. Using adaptive resistance allows the load to adjust through the range of motion, helping maintain meaningful tension where the athlete is strongest while reducing unnecessary limitation from weaker positions. Potential benefits include: • Higher eccentric loading and mechanical tension • Improved strength across the full range of motion • Greater control and deceleration capacity • A strong stimulus for muscular adaptation and hypertrophy • Better exposure to force at different joint angles • A useful tool for performance-focused programming when applied with the right intent and dosage The key is not simply making the eccentric heavier — it is creating the right resistance profile, maintaining control, and matching the stimulus to the athlete and the goal. This session was even better because I got to work through it with a good friend of mine, Samir Chebbo @samir.biohacks, N1 Longevity & Performance Coach in Dubai. Always great to train, exchange ideas, and explore different ways of applying biomechanics and resistance training in practice. 💪 Special Thanks to @formationbiohacking #biohacking #longevity #StrengthTraining #Biomechanics performance by @arxfit
@arxfit isn’t just about lifting weight — it’s about seeing exactly what your body is doing while you train. The system adjusts to your effort in real time and gives you instant feedback on every rep, so your workout can be incredibly targeted and efficient. Pretty cool to actually see your performance on the screen while you’re working. 👀 Come try ARX at Hi-Tech Fit inside Epic Wellness NW. #HiTechFit #EpicWellnessNW #ARX #StrengthTraining #MedfordOregon SouthernOregonFitness by @arxfit
"What's adaptive resistance?" A dumbbell weighs the same the whole way up. You're not the same strength the whole way up. So a fixed weight only truly loads your weakest point and leaves the rest of the range short. The ARX reads what the muscle can handle at every position and matches it. That's what the numbers on the screen are doing. Book your Longevity Assessment. Link in bio. by @arxfit
