HONOR PUTS WEIGHT ON MY SHOULDERS. Facing the surreal reality that I will be the first in my family to graduate with Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Biology is insane.
Graduated at 16 with my high school diploma and now 20 with my bachelors degree in biological sciences in biology. These past 4 years have been everything but easy. I couldn’t have done it without my parents and support systems they have built for me physically and emotionally @__dannylopez @jasmine._.molina . Above all I give gratitude to the most high, this is a GOD DREAM. At the age of 13 years old I made a decision to commit to a very specific and intricate path, and by the grace of God, I am going on 21 years old and still pursuing this goal. Everything I do, I do it for the purpose in which God has predestined me to bring into fruition. However, I also do it for that 13 year old girl who sat in her room with stars in her eyes. I do it for my parents who have sacrificed themselves for me. I do it for my grandparents who have known the Island and Campo before they have known the glory of the suburbs. I have endured so many obstacles including being told by my organic chemistry professor that medical schools “were not looking for students like me” and numerous other emotional hurdles that are all a part of my story. But GOD. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. I have found my identity and have bloomed out of my comfort zone. I know pain, exhaustion, burnout, and tribulations. But I live by faith, joy, gratitude, and love. Regardless of the circumstances that have been my stepping stones to strength, I give Jesus the glory for bringing me out of every rainy season. This feels unreal. I am blessed and grateful to say this is my reality. I thank all of you who have been so supportive of me since my very first year of pursuing my true passion. I will save lives (I already have 🚑), I will prove myself right, and I will change the future for my bloodlines. I am breaking generational curses one degree at a time.
