Book club, but make it a little more interesting.

I love when a gathering takes inspiration from the story itself, so for our Yesteryear book club we decided to bring a little of the book into the room. We made appetizers inspired by the story, poured some wine, talked about all the things… and yes, I fully committed to the trad-wife aesthetic. 😂

Because apparently reading the book wasn’t enough. We had to become part of it.

There’s just something about small gatherings like this. Good food, good friends, a little creativity and a book that gives you plenty to discuss. Small gatherings can make big memories.

Next up: Verity by Colleen Hoover. And I am BEYOND excited for this one… especially knowing there’s a movie coming. This book club gathering is definitely going to take a twist.

Now I need suggestions: what should we read next? Give me the books that made you stay up way too late, question everything, or immediately need to discuss with someone. by @as4events

A beautiful evening for a very meaningful cause.

Thank you, Kristen and Daniel, for hosting such a special dinner in support of Campfire Circle - an organization that gives children living with cancer and serious illnesses the opportunity to just be kids. Through medically supported camps, hospital programs and community experiences, Campfire Circle creates moments of friendship, connection, confidence and, most importantly, joy for children and their families.

The evening was made even more special by three incredible Toronto chefs who generously donated their time and talent: Chef Cory Vitiello, Chef Rob Rossi and Afrim Pristine. Their support of Campfire Circle and its fundraising efforts for more than 10 years is pretty remarkable.

It was such a pleasure to support this evening and a cause that has actually been close to my heart for years. Flashback to 10 years ago, when I supported Campfire Circle by running the Sporting Life 10K and it’s pretty special to still be supporting their work a decade later.

If you can, please donate. For a child going through cancer treatment, a day at camp can mean a day of laughter instead of appointments, new friendships instead of hospital rooms, and the simple freedom to just be a kid. Help make more of those moments possible.

Please donate and help give a child the gift of camp.

A little behind-the-scenes magic from The Moving Genie on Breakfast Television…

We had a VERY short window to take this space from BEFORE to AFTER live on @breakfasttelevision

Cameras? Rolling.
Clock? Ticking.
Genies? Making magic.
Me? Getting some action shots, supervising… and staying out of their way 😂

Because this is what The Moving Genie does best - walks into a space, figures out what needs to happen, and gets it done right!

And when you have a team of Genies who know exactly what they’re doing, sometimes the best management strategy is to stand back and let them work their magic.

A little chaos, a lot of teamwork, and one seriously impressive TMG transformation!

September is here, school lunches are back… and apparently I’ve entered my Fritaire era.

So far I’ve tested:
Roasted squash - which became an AMAZING salad topping
Butternut squash soup
Spare ribs
Bacon
Granola
Smores Cookies
And yes… PB&J sandwiches. Because apparently we air-fry everything now.

I love how compact, easy to use and easy to clean it is. Perfect for everyday cooking, small kitchens, single living or a dorm room when your culinary ambition is significantly bigger than your kitchen.

And NEXT UP: the UVI Lunch Box.

I haven’t tested it yet, but with September officially here, the timing couldn’t be better.

Unboxing my Fritaire and obviously the first thing I’m making is one of my favourites: sweet potato fries.

They were ready in under 15 minutes - 20 was a little too much, so I simply reduced the time and temperature and got them exactly how I like them.

The clear glass bowl might be my favourite part. I love actually being able to see my food cooking - apparently I like to keep an eye on my fries.

It also looks beautiful on the countertop and is such a great option when we have people over - easy to cook, easy to serve, and you can keep an eye on everything while entertaining.

And the clean-up? A little water + dish soap, turn it on for a few minutes, rinse and done. Clean, clear and ready to dig in.

I think I’ve officially entered my Fritaire era.

Warning: These tacos disappear in about two three bites… and you’ll immediately want another. 🌮🔥

Chef Moe and the Salma Tacos crew absolutely are the best.
All dishes are fresh, packed with flavour, and the kind of food that has everyone asking, “Wait… where did you order these from?”

Now excuse us while we go back for the ceviche because if it’s anything like the tacos, we’re in trouble. 👀

Excited to share that I’ve stepped into a new role as General Manager at The Moving Genie.

My career has always been rooted in coordinating people, logistics, and complex operations to create seamless experiences - whether producing large-scale events or helping clients navigate important life transitions.

What a beautiful afternoon celebrating the sweetest baby on the way 🤍

Proof that I’ll never outgrow flowers 🌼

Spent the day at Royal Botanical Gardens wandering through Bloomland of Oz - part childhood nostalgia, part full-blown floral obsession. Showing my kids a little magic from my past while mentally filing away event inspo, colour palettes, and install ideas? Absolutely 💐👀
