i've never really posted or shared much about my fitness journey thus far but i feel like now is finally a good time to post it somewhere. i don't really care if anyone sees this or not i just wanted it out there incase i get like alzheimer's or something LMAO.

progress pics towards the end with actual details in those captions (if u care to read at all)

overall timeline (2021 - 2026):

august 2021 - finally got a gym membership for the first time at kaua'i muscle & fitness. got encouraged by aiden, jordan, luis, & [REDACTED] and we all started going consistently right after graduating. was honestly a pretty shit facility for the price, mainly donated rusty equipment, cramped super skinny layout for $45 a month HAHA (but they had an indoor halfcourt which made it sooo fucking worth it).

august 2021 to may 2022 - was going super consistent (nearly 5x a week) with no real regimen or diet plan. mainly just lifting with progressive overload. it didn't really matter with the motions since everything was mainly newbie gains. but the activity was enough to make me drop from 220 to around 185.

june 2022 - finally moved to o'ahu and wanted to keep the regimen consistent but honestly this is where things started to fall off. shit with life gets in the way and i finally hit a strength plateau which discouraged me even more. the main reasons were actually dealing with heavy gym crowds for the first time and the gyms i went to had super weird hours.

july 2022 to jan 2025 - being on and off made me gain all my weight back (220). picked up playing basketball consistently though so that was probably good for my heart. unfortunately this is when my first hernia hit and i needed surgery done.

march 2025 - first surgery done. finally tried becoming active again and tried a calorie deficit. actually lost 20 pounds from dieting alone (now at 200)! thought it was all up from there but nahhhhh.

continued ->

april 2025 - hernia recurred AGAIN. gained 10 pounds back because getting a new surgery scheduled was such a hassle (now at 210).

october 2025 - finally got hernia surgery done AGAIN. took recovery seriously and didn't hit the gym until a month later.
