// It would be a crime not to share some of the random shots I took in China’s "Cyberpunk city" called Chongqing 🇨🇳

After I posted my last reel about Shanghai, I received some pretty ignorant comments from random weirdos on the Internet who seemed to have a lot to say about China without ever having experienced it themselves.

And honestly, that’s exactly why I believe travel matters. Don’t let the media, stereotypes, or someone else’s narrative shape your entire view of a country. No country is perfect, but there’s a whole world beyond what we see on our screens. Travel, ask questions, and form your own opinions. You might be surprised by what you discover.

Now, back to Chongqing!! This city had me in absolute awe 🤯

Built around stunning mountains, its landscape creates one of the most fascinating urban environments I’ve ever seen. In some ways, it reminded me of Hong Kong, from its dense architecture to its incredible use of vertical space.

The public transportation covers the entire city (a norm for Tier 1 & Tier 2 Chinese cities), easy, affordable, and incredibly convenient. Much of the city is walkable, and when night falls? Chongqing transforms into something straight out of a cyberpunk movie or something 🌃

And don’t even get me started on the food. The flavors are distinctive, the Chongqing chili peppers are unique, and the entire experience feels different from anywhere else. Plenty of Halal & vegan options too! 🍜

If you’re planning a trip to China, don’t just stick to the usual destinations. Put Chongqing on your list. It’s an experience worth having for yourself.

$Some cities leave an impression without you realizing it. Then one day, you randomly find yourself thinking about them. Shanghai is one of those cities for me 🇨🇳 I probably experienced only a fraction of what it has to offer, but it was enough to make me want to see more. I left the raw sounds in this video on purpose. No music. Just a small piece of Shanghai, exactly as I remember it. Travel the world and see the truth for yourself! 🌎 by @asaad_malik$
