At thirty-three years old, acclaimed tattoo artist Jasper Hayes has had his heart broken enough, thanks very much. He’s done with relationships. He has his job and his dogs, and that’s all he needs. It doesn’t matter if some gorgeous, smooth-talking man comes into the shop and starts courting him like modern day Mister f*cking Darcy. The pretty rich guy can go find his Elizabeth somewhere else.

Forty-six year old Konrad Iversen isn’t looking for love either when he walks into Blackwing Tattoo, but from the moment he sees Jasper, he knows that’s his person. Jasper has a guarded heart but Konrad has known his fair share of heartbreak as well, and he’s nothing if not patient.

He’ll win over that beautiful, feral artist, one way or another.

✨✨Beta Review✨✨

When @asavioletauthor asked if I would like to Beta read this novella, there was no hesitation! An immediate yes from me 😆😆

It has been an honor to be a part of this. Asa, you are a phenomenal storyteller, and I will never miss a chance to celebrate your brilliance💜💜🫶🏻

Asa’s writing has a way of just sinking its hooks into your soul. If you’re planning to read this novella, prepare yourselves because it is going to leave you ALL hot 👀🥵🥵🔥🔥

Konrad & Jasper absolutely did not come to play. In the wise words of Asa: “Abandon all expectation of a plot, ye who enter here.” 😂😂Expect pure love, intense chemistry, and off-the-charts spice!

I was a total puddle of tears during the wedding scene. I’ll just leave it at that so I don’t spoil anything 😭😭🥹The amount of unhinged DMs I sent Asa while reading was probably out of control, but I regret absolutely nothing👀😆😆Love YOUU👀🤭

Pretty please prepare with Epidermis because you don’t want to miss out!

🖤 Author Blurb: Asa Violet, author of Epidermis

I've been saving this blurb for after Epidermis was out because I wanted to celebrate @asavioletauthor on his incredible second book!

Asa was one of the first people to read and review Never Leave, Never Lie and has always written the absolute best reviews. I am so honored and grateful to have Asa's blessing on Endless Depths.

Please do yourself a favor and follow @asaviolet and add Epidermis to your TBR, if you haven't read it already!

I've been on deadline for the last few weeks, but now that I've finished, it's next on my list! I know exactly how amazing it will be because I've read Asa's books before and it's so incredible seeing so much love for this book! Many congrats Asa!!!

🔥 Abandon all expectation of a plot, ye who enter here.

Set after the end of Epidermis, this novella falls squarely in the category of er0tica, and Eternal is all about Jasper and Konrad just being madly in love as they explore k!nks and take care of each other in and out of the bedroom. There is zero relationship angst, and 7 of 9 chapters are purely er0tica.

Happy Halloween! Fun fact, the first chapter of this takes place on Halloween 🖤

I know they already got their happy ending and had plenty of spice in Epidermis already, but to be honest, this was mostly something I wrote for myself since I didn’t quite have them out of my system yet and I’m throwing it out here into the void in case anyone else wants to revisit them too. Eternal will have a table of contents detailing which k!nks are featured in which chapters so you can skip anything that’s not your cup of tea! (And don’t complain about the foot stuff when I made it very skippable! 🤣) You can even skip all the spice and go straight to the 💍 if you just want to read the sweet stuff 🫶

No release date yet but more info coming soon, including an official blurb and cover! Since it’s so short this will be an eBook only 💜

I don’t have the words but I’ll try.

I’m a couple days late on posting, so we’re actually just shy of 150k pages read and I’m so indescribably grateful. This book is so personal and special to me, in wanting to create some autism rep where the character isn’t infantilized and treated like a child, or reduced to any of the other stereotypes that plague neurodivergent characters in media. I had also just finished watching NBC’s Hannibal and the beauty of its writing made me want to write again for the first time in a very long time. And obviously, I became a huge Hannigram fan.

Epidermis was born, inspired by my newfound favorite show, my lived experience as a queer autistic man in the South, and some ideas that were just mine. So thank you for loving a book that came from love. Thank you for making this release a dream come true 💜 If you haven’t read Epidermis and want to give it a chance, you can read it on Kindle+ or grab signed copies from my website with exclusive merch! The 🔗 to both is in my b|o!

Thank you @authorleemccormick for the template!

Let’s talk about ✨fanfiction✨

I’ve had my fair share of comments saying that Epidermis is converted Hannigram fanfiction, so let’s talk about it! Jasper and Konrad’s physical appearances are inspired by Will and Hannibal from NBC’s Hannibal, and if you’re familiar with the series, you may spy a few things that trickled over into their personalties as well (none of which are copyrighted—believe it or not, more than one fictional characters can take in stray dogs). But Epidermis is and has always been an original piece of fiction. It did not start as fanfiction. But guess what: thinking it did is not an insult! I love fanfiction and fandom. Taking inspiration from existing media has existed for as long as art has been being made in all its forms. What matters is whether or not that inspiration was taken respectfully and ethically. I’ve been advised on multiple fronts to stop acknowledging these accusations and feeding the trolls but I also have the right to defend my work and will be directing future hate comments right here so I can stop repeating myself.

I’ve never tried to obfuscate where I took my inspiration from, and I’m always open to mature, mutually respectful conversations on differing options. But I have been told, strictly based on the appearance of these characters, that my writing is lazy, I’m a plagiarist, that I should go to jail, and in one memorable instance, that I should “just go d|e.” So yes, I am going to speak up for myself and a story that meant so much to me to write.

To everyone who has shown up for Epidermis, whether you’ve liked, commented, shared, added to your TBR, applied to be an ARC reader, or preordered, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

To the people who leave hate comments, thank you for your support, because the algo doesn’t know the difference between a negative comment and a positive one 🫶
