"Sirens Call" was my 2025 AFDA Honours film, written by the fantastic @imran_ahmed_08 and directed by myself and the wonderful @zen_the_isa. The film dives into themes of identity and belonging while also exploring manipulation, cultural erasure and the colonial saviour complex.

For this project I had to develop new relationships with people I'd never worked with or met before, which was a challenge for sure, but everyone was so dedicated and passionate, it really made for an amazing and seamless experience. To all those people, thank you for being who you are and being so patient with me and Zen, I know it wasn't always easy. 😆

To my co, @zen_the_isa. Thank you for being such a great dude and a fantastic person to collaborate with. Hopefully we get to work together again soon. 👀

And lastly, shoutout to all those who came through to help out who weren't doing their honours. Y'all didn't have any stakes in the production but you really have it your all, without you I don't think we could've pulled it off. 🙏

Crazy to think that a year ago, we were in the middle of preproduction.

"Following the death of his mother, Bernard takes on the sole responsibility of her financial troubles. Now, only a few hours till the memorial service, Bernard must juggle these financial strains, navigate familial pressures and come to terms with the possibility of losing his and his sisters' childhood home."

"Grief" was my 2024 AFDA graduation film, written by me and directed by myself and the lovely @hannahclemmy. The film explores themes of grief, family dynamics and parts of societal pressure and expectations through comedic, chaotic and absurd situations.

What a wonderful experience this was to work on and I'm so grateful to the wonderful people involved in bringing the idea to life, the crew really made this one special. ❤️ It's hard to believe this was almost a year ago already! 🥕 by @asb_ross

"After facing yet another humiliation, Jane gets catapulted through a labyrinth of time and consciousness, where she encounters her deepest fears, grapples with the absurdity of existence and ultimately attempts to find meaning amidst the chaos of her life."

"What Could Go Wrong" was an AFDA 2024 experimental film, written by the super talented @loyisosstudio, that deals with unconfronted trauma and existential dread through the eyes of a young woman.

This film was a wonderful experience and I learnt so much from my co-director @kariska_kotze and all the amazing people that made up our crew.

Wild to think that this was over a year ago now, how time flies. Incredibly grateful to everyone who made this project so special. ❤️ by @asb_ross
