Want to do a few posts about the US cross-country trip we did in June. We both were out with Covid right after the trip. So now it feels like I need to do these posts now, otherwise there will be no time later.

Good things first, complaints later.

Florida is beautiful. Ocean, predictable weather, lack of car regulations - everything we needed :)
I’ve been to the US many times before, but only this time I realized how different the country is from the rest of the world. Don’t get me wrong, there are other big countries which are unique, but these usually speak a language I don’t understand, so it is harder to experience different sides of life.
My impressions come from a very skewed perspective, as we were exploring the country mostly during business days and the World Cup. So we saw a lot of old people and tourists.
But still. Feels like people in the US live in a different reality. Parts of the country are frozen in time. People grow corn, drive 20+ year-old cars, drink the same (meh) beer and coffee, go to the same restaurant for decades, play their own sports, build homes from wood, own and use guns... And stay very, very proud of their country.
Interstates are full of old lorries. Solar panels are a rare sight. Most cars are built in the US (or people think they are build in the US :)). Everything is drive-through. You really can’t say what year it is now - 2026, 2016 or 2006 in many places we visited.
I am not saying that any of that is bad. It is just different. Life there is slightly different in every aspect. For some reason it fascinates me! I’ve started to mentally collect these differences over time.

Anyway, we managed to buy a car in a city called Apopka. Very fitting name for the circumstances! To be continued... taken in Florida, USA by @asbars

Had my first ever photo shoot not connected to any significant event. Interesting to see yourself from a different perspective. While I need to learn a few things to be a better model, I really like the result.
Would be nice to do it every year to see the difference.
