Flat Iron Mesa combines expansive slickrock, technical obstacles, sandy washes, and incredible views of Coyote Canyon, Hatch Wash, and Flat Iron Mesa.

🪨 Trail Info

- 14 mile loop located south of Moab off 191
- Suitable for high clearance 4WD vehicles with low range
- Less crowded than many of Moab’s more famous trails
- Rated Moderate to Difficult
- Several obstacles have bypasses, but others require capable vehicles and good spotting

⚠️ Notable Obstacles

- Easter Egg Hill
- Tilt A Whirl
- The Chutes
- Intimidator

Flat Iron Mesa offers a little bit of everything that makes Moab legendary. Challenging obstacles, incredible slickrock, and panoramic desert views.

📍Gateway Arch National Park in St. Louis, Missouri

Gateway Arch National Park feels more like a national monument than a traditional national park. Instead of towering mountains and abundant wildlife, it preserves the stories that helped shape our nation. From the iconic Gateway Arch to the historic Old Courthouse, the park brings to life the history of westward expansion, the Dred Scott case, and pivotal moments in American history.

We’ve now explored 19 of the 63 U.S. National Parks together, and we’re excited to keep working toward our goal of visiting them all.

On our way home from our Lake of the Ozarks trip, we made an afternoon stop in St. Louis to visit Gateway Arch National Park and explore the city.

We parked our RV at DraftKings Casino, then rode our scooters across the historic Eads Bridge into downtown. From there, we took the tram to the top of the Gateway Arch, toured the Old Courthouse, and spent the afternoon riding the Gateway Arch Trail, the Riverfront Trail, and the Mural Mile. We also explored Laclede’s Landing and cruised along the original St. Louis cobblestone streets.

Brian and I have a goal of visiting all 63 U.S. National Parks, and this was our second visit to Gateway Arch National Park together. The first time was back in 2020, but we weren’t able to tour the Arch or the Old Courthouse because of closures. It was fun to come back, experience everything we missed the first time, and see a different side of St. Louis with our scooters.

We spent the past four days at Lake of the Ozarks with a group of 30 friends celebrating my brother and his fiancée with a combined bachelor and bachelorette party, and it couldn’t have been a better weekend!

Our group mostly split between Margaritaville Resort and the adjacent RV park, which was the perfect setup for everyone. We had a Taco ’Bout Love Fiesta day, a Neon day, and spent the weekend exploring all over the lake.
