Another AWESOME 21st Century Family Engagement event at Jefferson Elementary!

This week, Roosevelt students teamed up with Ms. Martinez, 21st Century staff, for a creative project centered on respect and the lasting legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

What a way to end the summer! Nearly 500 Allentown School District students wrapped up the 2025 Summer Learning Program at the Flying Classroom STEMFEST held at Queen City Airport ✈️. Students explored STEM at 10 interactive stations, accompanied by classroom teachers and Flying Classroom instructors, and even met Captain Barrington Irving, the youngest and first black man to fly around the world. 🌍 Huge thanks to Queen City AirPort & Lehigh Valley Aviation Services for hosting this event, the Flying Classroom, and local pilot, Andrew [Jamaican-born like Captain Irving], who opened his plane for students to explore. A day full of inspiration, hands-on learning, creating memories, and encouraging ASD students to dream BIG! taken in Allentown Queen City Municipal Airport by @asd21century

Allentown School District 21st Century students came together for our 3rd Annual Field Day, a day full of friendly competition, school pride, and unforgettable memories. Students participated in a variety of events, and many earned individual awards for their outstanding efforts. The energy, spirit, and unity shown by all was truly inspiring and our students were absolutely AMAZING!

A heartfelt thank you to Captain Hammel from the Allentown Fire Department and Chief Roca from the Allentown Police Department for joining us in support. Chief Roca, Dieruff Class of 1993, couldn’t resist reliving his football days at J. Birney Crum Stadium and gave the sleds one last go!

We are grateful for the continued support from the City of Allentown in making events like this so meaningful for our students. All our strengths are needed. We get better together! by @asd21century

Students in the 21st Century Summer Learning Program are off to a fun and exciting start! They’ve been engaged with academic enrichment, learning how to write cursive, going on field trips, and enjoying hands-on learning activities from local enrichment providers that offer art, dance, physical wellness, nutrition, SEL, and more. The program will wrap up with Field Day at J. Birney Crum Stadium on July 22, 2025, where they will participate in athletic events against other schools, and our Flying Classroom STEMFEST event at Queen City Airport on July 31, 2025. Congratulations to Ana Mercedes and Christin George, 21st Century Project Coordinators, on their successful completion of the "Excellence in Leadership Course" through the Center for Schools & Communities!
This comprehensive program included 10 expert-led professional learning sessions focused on Educational Leadership, Communication, Emotional Intelligence, and Positive Psychology.
Through the course, participants developed practical leadership skills and gained valuable insights into their personal strengths and areas for growth.
We are incredibly proud of Ana and Christin for pursuing this opportunity to enhance their managerial effectiveness and boost workplace productivity. They continue to embody the spirit of growth and excellence that defines our 21st Century TEAM! by @asd21century
