Windows of Opportunities

Life offers us so many opportunities, if only we take the time to look.

Four windows, intentionally created, but the little worlds that appeared within them? Not so much. That’s the magic of intuitive painting ✨

And the fun part… there’s not a single piece of wood in this artwork! It’s all an illusion created through layers of paint and texture, with a little resin for the glass.

One of my two entries in this year’s Darlington Arts Festival.

What do you see through the windows? I’d love to know! 🧡

Who says gesso has to be white?! ☺️💙 Have you tried coloured gesso? If so, what’s your favourite? 🤗 I would love to know 💛

I looked away for a second (no I didn’t 😂) and then BOOM! 200 of you here 💛 Thank you, thank you, thank you!

A little something outside the sketchbook 🧡

Also — hello to all the lovely new people who’ve found me lately. The messages after my last reel were so unexpectedly lovely 🥹

I’m now only about 29 away from 200, which I’m embarrassingly excited about 😂🤓

Thank you for being here 🫶🏻💛

Now… I really should finish the sides and varnishing of this beauty.

If you like art, colour, creative experiments, watching paintings evolve and occasionally seeing things appear that I swear I didn’t put there — come along 🤭🧡

Some days you’re flying.
Some days you’re basically a snail with a to-do list. 🐌😂

Either way… progress is progress. 💜

I love painting layer after layer. It creates depth and interest in a painting … and reveals what’s hidden 😉.

The only issue is knowing when to stop layering 🤪.

Anybody else have that problem? 😂

The thing about building a business around your art, is that it takes you away from doing your art 😂.

Here’s me getting back into it 🤓, happy.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did 💛.
