The Silver Ball Trophy is the penultimate major in the competition calendar @sonninggolfclub . I was arriving in pretty good form, but from the first hole it didn’t exactly go to plan…

After shooting a respectable 4 over par front 9, my game completely fell apart and I couldn’t muster even a single par on the back. This has been a trend of my game lately and it’s really pissing me off! Genuinely think I might need a sports psychologist…

Scotland. Solo. 1,100+ miles. 3 rounds. 4 days. ⛳️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I was a little nervous booking this trip on my own, especially having never done a golf trip solo before. But honestly, I’d 100% do it again. Meeting like-minded golfers, competing against people I’d never met, exploring some incredible courses and having the freedom to just go and do my own thing made it one of the best golf trips I’ve done.

All in, the trip cost around £1,140 including golf, hotels, fuel, food and drinks, and I’ve somehow managed to make myself want to do it all over again.

The only thing I’d change? Packing approximately 400% more waterproofs. 😂

The competition highlight reel you’ve come to know and love, in some of the craziest weather conditions I’ve ever played golf in 😅

113 golfists entered, 18 turned up and only 14 players posted a score! I’ll take the top 10 finish anyway…

I’m pleased to report that Hayling is recovering beautifully after the summer drought! We’re now seeing some grass on the fairways, and the greens and tees are absolutely lush again 🤌🏼

I’m sad to report that, shockingly, I did not go on to beat the course record.

Big moment for the new flat stick @_sink_golf_

Sink Golf putters never miss 🤷🏻

Trying out a zero torque putter for the first time to see if it can bring more consistency on the greens. Early signs are positive 😂 @_sink_golf_

Blackmoor Golf Club in the middle of the great British drought ☀️⛳️ A seriously underrated course in my opinion, with a “Mini Hankley” type vibe about it.

This was peak summer, when it felt like it hadn’t rained for about 47 years 😅 The course was seriously dry, but the condition was still incredible.

I immediately noticed how green the fairways were in comparison to other top courses I’d played around the same time. Can only imagine how lush this place is when it’s in prime condition! 🤌🏼

As for the golf… Andy handed me my arse 🫠 I had a few good holes, but there was also some absolute golfing comedy out there. Relatable golf was out in full force.

If you’re a member at @blackmoorgolf or have played there recently, what are the conditions like now after some much needed rain? 👇🏼

My first ever custom putter and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out 😮‍💨💚

Massive thanks to Olly at @_sink_golf_ for sorting me out with this beauty. The green detailing and the Golfist branding are just 🤌🏼

Now just need this weather to sort itself out so I can finally get it out on the course 😬⛳️

Day 4 coverage of my 2026 R & R Golf Tour in Vilamoura 🇵🇹

Last day of the trip took us to the stunning Vale do Lobo Royal Course ⛳️ An absolutely fantastic course in brilliant condition, with the 15th and 16th holes easily making it my favourite course of the week.

The day didn’t exactly get off to the best start… I overslept, nearly missed the bus, and had about five minutes to get out the door. No warm up, no pre-round filming, just straight onto the first tee feeling like absolute ass 😂

Despite that, I had a brilliant match with Gerry and somehow managed to finish the week 2nd out of 12 in the individual standings. Not bad considering the standard of golf I was producing 😅

Unfortunately, the birdie count finished at a grand total of 🍩 for the week. Plenty of beers, some incredible courses and a lot of laughs though, so can’t complain too much.

What a trip. Roll on the next one 🍻🇵🇹
