Chronically Doubting What I'm Doing
Movie Reviews and Screenwriting Stuff

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
If anyone wants to doubt that ive been hard at work:)

The past 5 months I have spent most of my time devoted to learning about the film industry, writing and maybe watching too many Coen brother movies. The past 2 months I've been juggling working at the bakery and pursuing my dreams. All while dealing with mental health and physical health that really got me scared for a bit.

I have spent anywhere between 2 to 8 hours, daily, writing. Throwing scripts out, crying in frustration, laughing at myself, and crying again because I fell in love with what I wrote. And it's all mine.

Although, screen is where I want to be, I'm so proud that I finished this stage play (Yay! DAD I DID IT). I feel like there is a part of me in this story of grief. A way that I healed a little bit. Knowing you can lose people, and you've already lost them before they're gone, has always been hard for me. And writing this helped my heart heal.

Enjoy a little dump of what my life looks like on the daily (realistic version)

I express my angst in movie reviews :)
2. Rip Reiner
3. Funniest animated movie with the worst animation ever
4. Should of rated is lower because I only got 30 seconds of Justin Long
5. Took all my energy to read the subtitles. Dutch film is superior.
6. What else can I say other than @jalenthomasbrooks
7. I want to live in a world with just @oliviawilde and @sarahmargaretqualley23 (olivia isnt in this movie)
8. Why did you give these phenomenal actors the worst script?
9. Elijah Wood just being himself but a Satanist
10. Ew. Kathryn Hahn was the only redeemable thing
11. Truly was a hard watch. The concept and script were well done. But only Hugh Grant developed the only convincing performance.
12. I truly do love M. Night. Like actually obsessed.
13. Dont watch this.

Do not waste your time. I would not recommend. I would prefer it more if it was just a splatterpunk gore fest but it was worse. Much worse. It took apart of myself with it.

Thoughts on the director: Tom Six. You're a sick sick man. And I think youre aware of it, because you reveled in the negative attention you got for this film. You can excuse narcissism for curiosity maybe once, but the fact that you pulled the mask off as quick as you did was embarrassing. Are you okay? Ive never seen something so blatantly self obsessed.

Stand out actor: I don't have a lot to say. Dieter Laser, you were so grossly incredible in the first one. That when the third came around it felt like you were a satire of a satire of a satire. I was gravely disappointed.

I wouldn't recommend. I don't understand the cult following. And I wont rematch. If I was allowed to rate it lower, I would.

This is the best film I have seen so far in 2026. I was uncomfortable, I laughed so hard, I related to each and every character, and I also questioned everyone. And yes, if I met a middle aged man named Hawk, I would make fun of it too!

Stand Out Actor: All of them. I couldnt choose. Penelope Cruz was HILARIOUS and emotes with her facial expressions so well. She broke the awkward moments so well. I was so impressed. Ed Norton was the most unnatural gentleman I have ever seen and it worked so well. He was hot and surprising and I could not get enough. Seth Rogen, the man you are. I've never seen him be so effortlessly funny and relatable. His outer thoughts were so familiar, and felt like what the audience was thinking. And Olivia Wilde. No one should ever doubt you. You are a genius.

Director: Olivia Wilde. She took a different approach to this project. She filmed each shot in order, so that they could build up the relationships, the climaxes, the let downs, and the humor. It was beautiful. I've not watched something in a long time that made me feel like I was in the living room. She created an atmosphere that made you feel like you were there, and in the turmoil of a marriage needing to make a difficult decision. I adore you, Olivia Wilde. You inspire me.

I did not adore this film, but I loved the actors. It did take me back to movies like Zathura, and Journey to the Center of the Earth, while also hitting places like Birdbox. It did what Netflix does with their horror/science fiction movies. And I'm not upset at it. I think giving it a punch and pushing towards a R rated work would have been better, but over all, I don't feel like I wasted my time.

Stand Out Actor: Greta Lee. I loved her. I've been seeing reviews and critiques that say she lacked chemistry, but I believe the opposite. I think she was stunning in this role, nurturing but also driven for her children's survival. She had to be distant to keep the family thriving. I also feel like the lack of chemistry came from the script, not her performance. I am so excited to see her more.

The Director: Louis Leterrier. He is a familiar face to me. Having directed Now You See Me, The Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans, and Fast X, I am more than knowledgable about his work. I think he took brave swings with this one, and I would not have recognized it was his work. I did not feel like he put his signature on it, and it was refreshing. I love when directors turn things around and arent cookie cutter.

What a special year 2001 was. The world was blessed with me! And all of these movies. And many more!

I grew up on each of these. You dont realize how impactful movies are. Monsters, Inc. scared me as a child, I didn't like the Yeti, and to this day, I still don't like Bigfoot. Shrek is one of the movies that made me love and be passionate for comedy. Justin Long in his prime 👌 A Knights Tale always and forever will remind me of my sister.

Stand Out Film: Shrek. To think it could have been completely different. It's a sad thought because the comedy, television and film world lost someone very special. I am grateful we still got this masterpiece.

Stand Out Director: Peter Docter. To think this was so early in his direction career. And now we have beautiful movies like Inside Out and Up. The thing all of them have in common is their incredible scores.

Stand Out Actor: Reese Witherspoon. This was a HUGE step up in her career. She often played very young girls that were meant for the male gaze, and did not conquer it. But Elle Woods, walked with pride knowing she was beautiful and that she was smart and could do anything!

What a perfect way to celebrate my birthday! By celebrating the films that I love! by @ash.take.two

Obsession is a movie that I have been obsessed with for months now. Not a lot of movies have the ability to pop in to your thoughts everyday. And this one really did it for me. I debate whether I should rank it higher.

I would first like to say how PROUD I am of @curry.barker . I have kept up with his comedy, I have watched The Chair, I LOVED Milk & Serial, and I am desperately waiting for Anything But Ghosts.

We put the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies in the right hands.

Curry, if you do see this. You are inspiring to young filmmakers. And I think your sequel, The Bartender is gonna knock people's socks off!!

@cooper_tomlinson @indenavarrette and @themichaeljohnston , you guys are doing the damn thing. Wow!! Be so proud of yourselves!

Lastly, if I had to choose Man or Bear, Im choosing neither.

@letterboxd reviews of July 2026. I watched almost 40 movies this month and here are some of my top picks!!

American Honey was a huge surprise for me! It was a hard watch but it was supposed to be. Crafted beautifully and all the protagonists were faulty and imperfect and real!

Stand out actor was Cooper Hoffman. His dad would be so impressed. He is creating art. It's almost reminiscent of the hard creations we watched Phillip Seymour Hoffman in. I'm so thrilled to see his other projects.

Stand out director was actually a duo. The Coen brothers never fail me. Joel Coen is a mastermind, and I am so sad I hadnt seen The Big Lebowski before. I didn't know it was one of the greatest comedies of all time.
