Hi There! I'm Ash!

I’m a Tucson, Arizona based licensed massage therapist, and my art is in my palpation skills listening with my hands and responding to what each body is communicating. I’m especially good at the crossover between therapeutic and relaxing massage, helping people feel both relief and deep rest.

My work is about holding space for people to feel safe and unguarded for a little while, while helping their bodies become more aware of certain pain patterns and cycles and supporting the body in healing itself the best way it knows how.

I’m late-diagnosed AuDHD and have hEDS. I was also previously a caregiver for my mother, who used a wheelchair and lived with multiple autoimmune diseases and other comorbidities. These experiences have given me a varied and well-rounded understanding of the needs and struggles of disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, queer, elderly, and otherwise marginalized or vulnerable people. I know how important it is to be listened to, believed and treated with care and respect.

I’ve been masking for the last six years and have been practicing massage for about that long too. I take layered precautions to reduce airborne transmission risk: I mask consistently, run a HEPA air purifier during every session, and keep my room mostly scent-free, aside from the occasional seasonal callus-softening foot scrub or hand-softening scrub. I ask people to reschedule if they’re feeling sick or have had a known recent exposure and I’m happy to discuss masking, ventilation, and other accommodations with clients ahead of time.

I know these measures can make a meaningful difference, but I don’t claim they eliminate all risk. My goal is to be transparent and help people decide whether my space feels appropriate for them. I care deeply about creating a space where people don’t have to choose between receiving care and protecting their health.

Had to laugh at this audio because SAME. 😂
Explaining to folks -clients, friends, family, whoever -why “masseuse” isn’t the right word anymore feels exactly like this:

🗣️ “You can give them a nickname, but it can’t be about their body!”
👉🏽 “...flaca?”
🙅🏽‍♀️ “Nooo, mom - that’s about their body!!”
👉🏽 “Uhhh... chicken!”
🙅🏽‍♀️ “No, Mom...”
👉🏽 “Pues tiene piernas de chicken!”

But seriously, here’s the deal:
I’m not a “masseuse.” I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and that title actually matters.

Especially here in Tucson, during big events like the Gem & Mineral Show, the word “masseuse” still carries these old, sketchy, sexualized vibes that blur the lines between legit, trauma-informed care and sketchy, exploitative stuff. 🫠

Add in diploma mills, spotty enforcement, and our location near the border and it’s a real mess that impacts trafficking, undercutting honest therapists, and, most importantly, client safety.

This isn’t just about sounding fancy or professional,it’s about protecting both clients and therapists.

💆‍♀️So please, if you care about safe, quality, professional massage therapy, look before you book.

Make sure your provider is licensed, insured, and held to solid ethical standards (like those backed by ABMP).

I’m proud to do this work right with clear boundaries, full consent, and genuine care at the heart of everything I do.

⚡️TL;DR:
It’s not “masseuse.” It’s Massage Therapist or LMT.
Words matter -especially when it comes to safety. Let’s lift up the massage therapists who actually support your nervous system and help your body heal itself.

If you are an athlete or receiving event or chair massage, you will most likely be receiving a massage clothed as you are , on a massage table or chair, most likely.

Got out some things to make MCR-themed kandi for trade this weekend and of course I’m missing the colors I need 😅
