Mental Health Awareness means to be conscious of our own thoughts feelings and emotions and to understand how they might impact our lives and our interactions with others. It doesn’t mean you’re "crazy." Therapy will help you to get there quicker and with support along the way. Mindfulness is a tool that is used during session to become present with these sensations. Then, when this becomes strengthened, it never goes away, and nothing becomes "good," or "bad," it only "becomes." There is no separation.

Safe Enough to Be Seen 🤍

Ever feel like talking to a robot is easier than being vulnerable with another human?

I get it. I can finish a thought, share something messy, and find words for feelings I’ve hidden—without watching someone’s expression change or worrying about judgment.

When honesty has brought rejection, our needs have felt “too much,” or closeness has come with conditions, we learn to protect ourselves. We become agreeable, useful, funny, or independent… while wondering whether anyone truly knows us.

Sometimes, those protections also keep intimacy out.

AI can offer space to reflect and practice difficult conversations. It can also miss the mark—and it can’t provide the mutual care, shared experiences, and accountability of human connection.

That’s where relational wealth comes in: people we can exhale around. Respect for our “no.” Support that goes both ways. Room for differences, repair, and honesty.

Relationship poverty can exist in a crowded room—or a long-term relationship. We’re needed but rarely supported. Included but not fully known. Surrounded by contacts, yet unsure whom to call when life falls apart.

These describe our access to connection, never our worth.

Talking to AI has helped me notice what I’ve been missing: patience, curiosity, room to speak, and less fear of judgment.

We deserve those qualities in our human relationships, too. Built slowly, with boundaries and people whose actions make trust possible.

Love you. 🤍 by @ash_s_thoughts

“We gotta change the narrative because people like to just dwell on bad things all the time. And don’t get me wrong—we’re all going through bad shit, but it’s okay to look at the good.” —Jo Koy

Sometimes life is genuinely hard. Looking toward the good doesn’t mean denying our pain, pretending everything is fine, or forcing ourselves to be positive before we’re ready.

It simply means remembering that pain is not the only thing present.

Even in difficult seasons, there may still be laughter, kindness, connection, music, sunlight, a warm meal, or one person who reminds us that we’re not alone. The hard things deserve to be acknowledged—but they don’t have to become the entire story.

We can grieve what hurts and still notice what heals. We can feel overwhelmed and still experience moments of joy. We can honor where we are while holding hope for where we’re going.

Changing the narrative is not ignoring the bad, it’s giving the good a chance to speak, too. ✨ by @ash_s_thoughts

It’s not about bad things never happening, or reaching some perfect state of bliss where everything feels peaceful, calm, and untouched.

It’s about how you interpret and move through the moment.

There is duality in everything. Light and shadow. Expansion and contraction. Loss and becoming. And perhaps the deeper wisdom comes when we stop labeling each experience as simply “good” or “bad” and begin asking, What is this here to show me?

That’s when life begins to happen for you, rather than to you.

In his latest Netflix special, Trevor Noah says, “joy isn’t the absence of struggle.” Sometimes, it’s what we create in the middle of it—a way of finding joy in the trenches, even when life is messy, uncertain, or painful.

I’m learning that joy can coexist with grief. Gratitude can exist alongside disappointment. Laughter can find its way into the hardest seasons. Finding joy in the trenches doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. It means refusing to let difficulty become the only story.

When I surrender. When I trust. When I loosen my grip on how I think things are supposed to unfold and allow something greater than my own understanding to move through me, I begin to trust the process a little more.

Not because I know what comes next, but because I’m learning that I don’t have to.

Maybe the path isn’t always meant to make sense while I’m walking it.

Maybe I’m simply being asked to keep moving—with an open heart, a willing spirit, and enough trust to know that somehow, somewhere, it is all becoming part of the same journey.

And perhaps that is the freedom:

Not needing every moment to be good.

Not needing every moment to be easy.

But trusting that every moment can become meaningful—and learning to find joy in the trenches along the way.

✨There is #healing in creating something new each day—tending a garden, humming a melody, making art, writing poetry, journaling, or capturing a fleeting idea.

✨These small acts form the foundation of a life rich with meaning, one worth returning to. As the mind’s chatter quiets, space opens for the wisdom of the body.

✨ Where my attention goes, my energy flows. ✨

I’ve been thinking about how much of my life is shaped by what I repeatedly give my attention to.

When I’m worried, I notice more things to worry about. When I’m present and grounded, I notice what I might otherwise miss—a sunset, a meaningful conversation, someone’s kindness, a moment of peace.

The world around me didn’t necessarily change.

**My attention did. My intent-ion did. **

What I focus on influences what I notice. What I notice influences how I feel.

How I feel affects my nervous system, and the state I live in shapes how I respond to the world.

Over time, those responses can become patterns.

This is where neuroscience, nervous system regulation, spirituality, and what some call the Law of Attraction begin to connect for me—not because I believe my thoughts magically control everything that happens, but because they influence what I notice, nurture, and carry forward.

Life will still bring loss and love, beauty and disappointment, things I choose and things I never saw coming.

It isn’t about control.
It’s about becoming conscious of what I continue to grow within me.

If I spend my days searching for evidence that something will go wrong, my mind and body become increasingly prepared for danger. If I make room to notice safety, connection, possibility, gratitude, and meaning, I give myself different experiences to grow from.

That doesn’t mean ignoring what hurts.

It means I can acknowledge my pain without allowing it to become the only place my attention knows how to live.

What I repeatedly attend to can become familiar. What becomes familiar can influence what I believe, the choices I make, and ultimately the life I build.

So I ask myself:

Where am I investing my thoughts, my emotions, my presence, my time, and my life?

My attention is one of the most valuable things I have.

And wherever I continually place it…

something within me is being strengthened. 🌱✨ by @ash_s_thoughts

I ask for peace within myself, and the world that we exist in—the kind of peace that does not depend on circumstances, relationships, or external validation. May I learn to feel safe within my own being and trust that I am enough exactly as I am.

I ask for protection and healing for the people I love, and the wisdom to care deeply without believing I have to carry everything alone.

I ask for healing that reaches the roots—the courage to release old patterns, fears, attachments, and ways of surviving that no longer belong to the woman I am becoming.

I ask for a deeper relationship with myself. May I hear my own voice beneath the expectations, fears, obligations, and stories of others. May I know what I truly want.

I ask for love that does not require me to abandon myself. I want to experience intimacy while remaining sovereign. I want a love that sees me clearly, meets me honestly, and allows both people to remain fully themselves.

I ask for the courage to discover an unknown life. May I stop measuring my future by what I have already experienced.

May I remain open to doors I cannot yet see. by @ash_s_thoughts
