I’m still reflecting on an amazing week at the @naturbanleague conference in Nashville.

Conference is easily one of my favorite times of the year. This year was especially meaningful because it was also an election year for @nulyp , and I had the privilege of being a candidate.

Throughout this campaign, I had the opportunity to share a vision for NULYP shaped by thirteen years of learning, serving, and leading within this organization.

I am humbled and honored to share that during conference, I was elected and sworn in as the next President of the National Urban League Young Professionals for the 2027-2028 term.

I never imagined when I attended my first CFULYP meeting, or even my first National Urban League Conference, that my journey would one day lead me here.

I am deeply grateful for the trust our members have placed in me and the incoming Executive Leadership Team as we prepare to serve this movement.

I am grateful to have shared this journey with such dedicated fellow candidates, each of whom has demonstrated a deep commitment to our movement. I have tremendous respect for each of them.

I am equally grateful for the leaders who came before us. Because of their vision, service, and leadership, we inherit an organization with a rich legacy and an even brighter future. I recognize that we have the privilege of building upon that foundation, and I am committed to honoring that legacy through servant leadership as we continue advancing NULYP together.

Our incoming Executive Leadership Team will spend the next several months preparing for a smooth transition before taking office in January. We have a lot of work ahead, and I’m looking forward to working alongside an incredible team so we’re ready to serve on day one.

Thank you again for your trust. I don’t take this responsibility lightly, and I look forward to continuing to serve this movement alongside all of you.

Ashley’s journey has been one of dedication, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to empowering others. Having been a valued part of the Central Florida Urban League family for many years, we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into an exceptional leader who continually inspires those around her.

We are incredibly proud of all that Ashley has accomplished and know this is just the beginning. Her passion for service, advocacy, and creating opportunities for the next generation will undoubtedly make a lasting impact on the National Urban League Young Professionals and communities across the country.

Throughout this campaign, conversations with delegates have reinforced my belief that our movement is ready for greater clarity, meaningful opportunities, and stronger partnerships that support our chapters.

Those conversations have also been an opportunity to share the leadership philosophy that guides me: Listen. Collaborate. Lead. and the vision behind “Clear the Way”.

Thirteen years ago, I joined this movement seeking community and a way to serve after college. I never imagined how it would shape both the leader and the person I am today.

The National Urban League Young Professionals has given me opportunities to serve, grow, build lifelong friendships, and work alongside passionate leaders across the country.

Each chapter of this journey has strengthened my belief in the power of our movement and the impact we can create together.

That is why today, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the role of President of the National Urban League Young Professionals.

Together, we can strengthen our chapters, cultivate collaborative leadership, and position NULYP for its next chapter of growth and impact.

I look forward to sharing more about my vision in the coming weeks and connecting with members and leaders across the country. I hope to earn your support as we build the future of our movement together.

Q2 Recap 🗓️

Q2 was busy! From celebrating Shelda’s graduation in DC, surprising the boys at a soccer game, chapter visits to Charlotte & Atlanta for their signature YP events, the official first GBM of CFULYP since the relaunch (🥹) to celebrating Eva’s bday at Chuck E Cheese, sending Keisha off for her new adventure, cuddles from Bryce, 1969 Club picnic and UCF Volunteer Leadership Conference with UCF Black Alumni family, Mayor Demings’ final State of the County TFI Luncheon with a sweet reunion of CFUL/YP ladies.
