It was so wonderful to spend time with my Gramma for her 94th birthday this weekend! My dad, his girlfriend @matorrico, and I took her to see her parent’s in Santa Paula, left them flowers, and said a prayer for both of them. I wish I had been able to meet them but it felt like they were near us in that moment. by @ashbashh117

Brandon, you were one of the kindest, sweetest, and silliest souls I have ever known. From the moment you were born, you have only been a light in my life and in the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing you. I knew you were so special from the moment I first held you when I was 13 years old.

Your mother posted a tribute for you on your birthday, April 8th, and all I could think of how logically, I knew you just turned 19 years old but you would always be that baby in my eyes. I know that is a common sentiment with parents, older siblings, and as your older cousin, I really did feel that way with you. All these memories of watching you grow play over and over in my mind, make me smile and giggle, and offer me comfort in this moment.

As a little toddler, you would say “Uppie!” and ask me to carry you and walk around with you, which I always delighted in. You were growing bigger and bigger, and others around would say I couldn’t lift you anymore, but I secretly loved it everytime and I just kept lifting you up until I really couldn’t. And even then you found a way for me to hold you. I remember when you would ask for me to come swim with you and your brother Nathan in the ocean camping, and then you’d jump up in my arms and I can hear your voice say “Hold meeee” and maybe I feigned annoyance, but I was very happy to do so.

Going to Jalama will never be the same without you. The thing that sticks out in my mind is that you would always ask me to play with you and your brother. Constantly. It never mattered that I was 13 years older at all, and again, your mom and family would light-heartedly chide you and say to leave me alone to relax. But you knew that I would get up every time and ride bikes or go to the beach and swim and God, am I grateful that I want to say 99% of the time (the other 1% was at night when we were by the campfire and if I was reading a magazine) I would always get up and have fun with you both. My precious niños. Our precious niños.

You’ve brought me so much happiness my entire life, Tim, and for that I truly cannot thank you enough.

You have always been my favorite actor on the silver screen and voiceover actor, I always felt proud when I knew you were voicing a small character in a cartoon because of your distinct voice. You were the main reason that I was constantly watching “Muppets Treasure Island” and “Annie” on VHS, and rewinding to the scenes when you sang.

Then when I discovered the Rocky Horror Picture Show, I went to several midnight screenings in my high school years. I am sure the shadowcast Frankies were fabulous performing “Sweet Transvestite”, but I never took my eyes off you on the big screen.

I will love you until the end of my days and will enjoy your vast filmography and music for the rest of my days too.
I know we all will. Rest easy Tim. ❤️

We truly lost an angel here on this Earth, and I hope that she feels all of our love in this moment. Dolly Parton was an icon in every sense of the world, and she has inspired generations of artists, and just everyday people, by marching to the beat of her own drum and through her talent and her example of being a genuinely kind human being.

She not only was an incredibly profilic artist who left behind a massive array of films and music she put her heart and soul into to enjoy, but she impacted countless children through her Imagination Library and all of us through her humanitarianism. It is worth noting she could have been a billionaire, but because she gave so much of her own wealth to those in need, she was not.

I believe every single one of us can honor Dolly by being kind to our neighbor to counteract the hate in this world. A legacy of kindness is the most beautiful to leave. I will always love you Dolly.

Rest in Peace Dolly Parton. 🤍🕊️

(The last slide is my initial texts to @comicjimmy upon hearing of Dolly’s passing, I will truly miss her immensely and I know I’m not alone in feeling that. It really feels like the world is mourning her loss tonight.)

I’m beyond grateful that after 20 years of loving Selena, I was able to see her clothing in person and take pictures with her outfits. I know it looks like it’s a 33 year old woman smiling near her outfits, but I assure you it’s really inner 12 year old me standing beside them that was planning a future pilgrimage to Corpus Christi, Texas on the old internet (I still need to go) and that chose a red dress to wear at my mom’s wedding because it reminded me of Selena. ♥️🌹

I wanted to share these photos today, the day of Selena’s birth. Last month, I was fortunate enough to visit the Selena exhibit at the Grammy Museum with @comicjimmy and took close-up photos of Selena’s clothing and personal items.

We got there an hour before closing but since it was a small exhibit, it was easy to us to write our tribute messages on the wall, take a lot of pictures and be there with her artifacts. In the last 10 mins, it was just me in that room with her clothes, so I just got as close as I could and zoomed in at details of her clothes.

I thought about the hours spent stitching the jewels and pearls onto the Victoria’s Secret bras to make them ready for the stage. How she spent her teenage years designing clothes and thinking of how she wanted to appear onstage to the public, to the world. I thought about the time she spent into her craft and how she was really just a girl with a dream making it happen with her God given talent and her hard work making her family’s band break through. And then I blew her dress a kiss and said “Love you” and then I left. It was hard to go.

I’m very grateful that I’ll be able to come back because they have added her iconic Houston Astrodome purple jumpsuit. The exhibit at the Grammy museum is here for a limited time because her artifacts will be returning to the Selena museum in Texas so if you also live in LA, please please don’t miss your chance to see this exhibit until May 11th.

We love you always Selena. 💜

@comicjimmy and I were talking and he pointed out that I am now 33 1/3 years old, like a record! As such a lifelong music lover, that made me really excited, so I wanted to share what I consider to be my 7 favorite records because my birthday is on the 7th. 🎶🎧

Of course there are hundreds of albums that I could consider part of my favorites but I believe what I selected really represents what kind of music I love. I feel like music is a huge part of my identity and all these artists changed my life in the best possible way. ♥️ by @ashbashh117

I have never known a time in my life without my sweet uncle Bill, he married my equally sweet auntie Barby in 1981 and I was born in 1992. There is a picture of me as a small baby looking like maybe the most comfortable baby to ever exist laying right on my Uncle Bill’s belly. From that moment, he represented comfort, safety and unconditional love.

In the days since my sweet, kind and wonderful uncle Bill passed very peacefully on January 21st, countless memories of my formative years came into my mind all at once. I wanted to write a tribute to my uncle Bill and I thought the best way to do this would be to share a few anecdotes that I believe best represent how much he means to me and who he really was as a human being.

My earliest memories are of being at aunt Barby and uncle Bill’s house because my brother and I lived with them when we were very small. There are so many memories lovingly captured by my uncle Bill on his big camcorder, of William and I singing songs, playing together, watching the same movies on VHS over and over again. It was the best place to be. I remember watching Sesame Street and PBS, which included Mr. Rogers and I have the memory of looking at Mr. Rogers and then at my sweet uncle Bill and thinking they were the same kind of man.

Barby and Bill saw early on that I was artistic and loved to draw, read and write. So I was always given a lot of art supplies to draw and chalk to write the alphabet outside their house on the sidewalk. I remember painting a rainbow with watercolor paint and giving it to my uncle Bill and he proudly had it on the window of his office for a long time.

Even as an adult, I could not resist doodling and/or leaving a message for Barby and Bill on their whiteboard. Drawing on it was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. I was always pleased me when I would see uncle Bill take out his digital camera and take a picture of a drawing of mine for posterity. I couldn’t help but go through my uncle Bill’s phone when he was in the hospital, and it touched me to see that one of the few photos on his phone was a Christmas message that I wrote with a heart in 2024. ❤️

I’m about to start the documentary “Selena Y Los Dinos” again and I prayed for Chris Perez and the entire Quintanilla family. I hope that the fans enduring love for Selena continues to bring them comfort and I can’t express how grateful I am to them for sharing their archival footage of her with us. I think to when I met @chrispereznow two years ago in Long Beach at the butcher shop he’s now an owner of, and he could not have been more kind and down-to-earth, core qualities I also love about Selena.

I was very nervous at first and I told him so cause I’m not good at hiding that kind of thing and felt my hands shaking and he said “Don’t be nervous!” and gave me a hug. He signed my cherished copy of “To Selena, With Love” that I read in one afternoon and really took the time to listen to me and every fan that came to see him that day. I’m also beyond grateful I got to thank him for writing “To Selena, With Love” and sharing who she was as a person and as a beloved wife to the world.

With every new video and picture I see, or anecdote shared of her, I love her even more. I firmly believe Selena will live on forever and ever with the generations of fans that hold her close to their hearts. ❤️ by @ashbashh117

I was looking through Selena videos on YouTube, excitedly awaiting the release of the “Selena y Los Dinos” documentary, and I found behind the scenes footage from a shampoo commercial she filmed in 1994!!

Of course I had to take screenshots of footage I had never seen and I can safely say I’ve never seen anyone look so playful, vivacious, sexy, silly, and fun loving in a commercial ever before in my LIFE! 🤭 That was just Selena’s essence and I’m grateful we have these videos and photos to remember her with. 💜🌹 by @ashbashh117
