✨🥺 Funeral photos from Splinter Factory 🥹💗 RIP✨⚰️

I'm trying a new way of getting photos to people. The link to the full funeral collection is in my bio, where you can download individual pics.

I'm grateful for the innumerable ways my life has been enriched by Splinter Factory, by Splinter's residents, and the extended Splinter family.

Communal spaces save lives and give us life. I did a whole eulogy about it for the Splinter Factory funeral. Let me know if you'd like me to share that recording.

Also I can only tag 20 ppl so you'll have to help me out with the rest. Sorry I didn't capture everyone. I actually really struggle with posting/sharing photos especially on this app but I want people to have pics of cutiepie moments in their lives so gotta push through. Wow, thank you. Such a joy to soft launch our communal living podcast. But why did we launch "soft" and intimate, rather than hard?

We realised we gotta bring our community on this communal journey from the start. The topic of living together & better is a big one. And we want this podcast to actually help people who dream about living together to do it, whether their vision is commune, co-housing or co-op, or making their existing community more of a village.

At our soft launch, people who had never met before shared communal visions that were genuinely so beautiful and exciting. Together, we have so much inspiration, now we gather the information. For you. What do you wanna know?

When Ash and I met we realised we shared a dream…and we shared it with pretty much everyone we knew.

To live beside friends. To escape the rat race. To grow food and habitat. To work less. To create more. To bring down the empire. To live better in community.

Essentially, to start a commune.

It sounds utopian.
It feels fucking necessary.

You are here 📍 in the middle of a housing, cost‑of‑living, climate, mental‑health and loneliness crisis: communal living is a proactive response.
The problem? None of us know how to do it. Including us.

So instead of figuring it out alone, we’ve decided to figure it out together. In the form of a podcast.

From March, we will be hitting the road to talk to people who’ve lived in communes, co-housing and collectives. We want to find out what worked. What didn’t. What endured. What fell apart.

But before we go, we want to gather our own community.

So on 27 Feb, we’re holding a soft-launch at Ash’s place. Together we will meet each other, share our communal living aspirations, record ideas and ask questions, collect your suggestions for the podcast, (aaaaand maybe accept doughnations for production costs if you have any.)

If you’ve ever ended a conversation with “LETS START A COMMUNE!” we want you there.

SO KEEN FOR TONIGHT: Bankstown Poetry Grand Slam is on the @sydneyoperahouse stage. There are still some tickets left!

@bankstownpoetryslam is such a heartful community, I have loved doing photography for the past few Grand Slams.

Last year they had @plestia.alaqad as guest poet in Town Hall. This year it's @nikita_gill as guest poet on the Opera House main stage.

Love to see such a wonderful thing grow. Much appreciation to @storytellerinchief and @thesaramansour for planting the seeds in 2013 and watering them til this day. by @ashberdebes
