One year ago today, my life changed forever. This past year has taught me a lot about life and myself. It is so so easy to lose yourself in recovery, but I Thank God I never lost me. I never lost my smile, I never lost my spark, I never lost my passion, I never lost all the things that make Ashbie, Ashbie 🥹 I wanted to give up yall, BAD! I’ve truly had some of my darkest moments during this year, but I’ve also had some of the greatest memories of my life during this year! I am a survivor! and I owe it to myself to keep going! 💪🏾

This class was not just for you, it was for us too! We are the epitome of RESILIENCE! 💪🏾 We surpass the pain and prevail through it all! The ups and the downs of a major injury! 😩We came back stronger than ever and are continuing to heal as we go on into the new chapter of life. 🦋

hey familyyyy ❤️ bad news 😬 so rmb that knee injury…yeaaa, i tore my ACL. completely. like it’s completely gone. i have to have surgery. reconstruction surgery.

i questioned “why me?” for a little while, but i think i know why. i think i didn’t appreciate and realize how talented i was until i had to sit down. God blessed me with such an amazing gift and i didn’t appreciate it how i should’ve. i’ve spent my whole life, whole career comparing myself, unhappy with myself, hard on myself, and constantly trying to make myself fit in a box that i was never supposed to be in. i don’t dance like anyone i know and for years i thought that was a bad thing. i stood out in every crowd and had the audacity to try and shrink myself to fit in. it’s only now that im sat that i am finally seeing myself. im finally seeing that i am OHHHH so talented. i’m finally seeing that i was never maddddeeee to fit in. im finally seeing what i should’ve been appreciating since i started this journey. and i am finally FINALLY seeing myself. as God intended me to.

i’m praying i get to finally be the dancer God intended me to be. when i heal that is. God, I thank you for opening my eyes.
