“LATERALUS” In this piece I attempted to touch the same terrain Maynard often explores in his lyrics and melodies… the boundless human spirit.

Beyond the earthly plane, connecting us to something greater than us all… something both deeply human and beyond the realm

When this piece was almost done I had a sudden impulse to lay the Fibonacci sequence over the composition on my iPad… just to see… it just so happened to fit perfectly. Sublime. Of course, inspired by the cadence of Maynard’s lyrics in “Lateralus”,

But this is more than about one track…it’s a dedication to all of Maynard’s work. I created this piece because his lyrics are some of my greatest inspiration, in life and in art.

I don’t think there’s another lyricist I love more…his poetry , the peppering of simple as well as layered complex messages…he’s a true story teller, and a smart ass, I love it
