i lost my best friend in the entire world today. it was so sudden and surprising and it feels like my heart has been absolutely ripped away from me. i was lucky enough to have the best and sweetest dog in the world and i will never forget a moment of it.

before he went to sleep, elway put his head on my hand against my knee as if to tell me it was all gonna be okay. he licked my hand and then fell asleep. he died with his hand in mine.

When I arrived in Nepal, I expected to be moved by the beauty of one of the greatest landscapes in the world. While I absolutely was, I was even more moved by the ineffable happiness, kindness, and generosity of every single person I met, from our guides to the monks to the stranger who taught me to play the flute in the street. A most sincere thank you to everyone who was involved. I will never forget seeing Everest, the delicate and tender prince. My memories of the beautiful monuments and monasteries will never leave me. Most of all, I will forever carry the people of Nepal with me, as well as all those I went with.
