🎻 New work: “Cocteau’s Circle” for the Australian Chamber Orchestra 🎺 So thrilled and honoured for the opportunity to draw this one. The brief was unbelievably fun — to depict a night club scene in 1920s France. Drawing the ‘20s in the ‘20s. Capturing members of the orchestra and the legend himself: Jean Cocteau 💫 Looking forward to seeing the performance in November (and to see the work in real life!) 🎹 Thanks @lizzymcgillivray & @jackywinter for making this happen so smoothly. 🐦 Big thanks to @australianchamberorchestra for the opportunity! 🎫 by @ashermcshane

🍻 New Work! 🏭 Illustration for @xxxx.beer 🍺 A most unexxxxpected opportunity that I’m so grateful of. I grew up on the Gold Coast but when I got my first “real job” I was working in Milton — home of the “Milton Mango” that XXXX beer is so affectionately known as. The original office of @whoisjosephmark had a view of the XXXX factory, and when I first moved out of our family home — I lived just up the road from it. Such an iconic brand and beer that has truly stood the test of time (over 100 years old) 🥭 I never would’ve dreamt of drawing pictures for it! When the brief came in, courtesy of my rep @jackywinter, I crossed my fingers and drank my beer hoping for a green light. I started drawing right away. Depicting everything that’s iconic to Queensland — our sunshine state — and everything that fits in the brand’s limited colour palette. 🌴 A king parrot, the “big pineapple”, a red kangaroo (“Wallaby Lewis”, the king of rugby league) and cooking shrimp on a barbie. 👑 Typography was inspired by an old Four Ex ad (slide 8) ✍️ And I animated “Mr. FourEx” just as a bonus 😉 The work is now live & for sale on the XXXX shop. 💻 Special thanks to my Jacky Winter agent @nami.pokes for helping the project along and being that exxxxtra set of eyes. 🦘 It’s been a big week of Wheelchair Rugby with the @australiansteelers competing at the World Championships in São Paulo. 🇧🇷 I’ve been tuning into every game and working on a set of player trading cards for the team. ✨ Congrats to The Steelers for remaining undefeated so far! 🏀 In celebration of the @glasgow_2026 Commonwealth Games, I drew some (virtual) trading cards for the Women’s & Men’s teams representing Australia in 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball. 💫 No bias… my brother @matt_mcshane.12 is the coach of the men’s “Wombats” squad (and if you know me, you know the wombat is my spirit marsupial). 📺 Tune in TONIGHT to see both teams play Round 1 and send all the best vibes to Glasgow. 🐨 I wish there was a wombat emoji, but koala is close. 🌱 @wheelchairbasketballaustralia @paralympics @ausparalympics @commgamesaus @asc 🙌 by @ashermcshane

Ninoosh gives us this week’s tender-hearted Feature Video that’s completely animated and completely dedicated to one outstanding doggo and the hardship of navigating an invisible illness.  Speaking about the influence behind “That Sinking Feeling”, Ninoosh (also known as Anya!) says “honestly, I can’t completely remember where it first began. I think it came from trying to make sense of the day-to-day emotional weight I carry and translating that into music.”  “Living with Bipolar Disorder affects every part of my life. Some days can feel really heavy and unpredictable, so the clip became a way of expressing those emotional highs and lows visually.” The music video was brought to life thanks to Bundjalung animator Asher McShane and Wild At Heart Records @wildatheartcommunityarts - a Melbourne based arts organisation that looks to break down barriers that artists with visible and invisible disability face in the industry. "This clip wouldn’t exist without Wild At Heart," says Anya. "They’ve created a space where artists with disability can genuinely tell their stories through music and art without having to hide who they are." That Sinking Feeling stars a cartoon version of Ninoosh and her dog Wilson, a border collie cross kelpie that’s full of energy and love. In the clip the pair travel together through cartoon versions of Melbourne streets, riding rollercoasters at Luna Park and dancing outdoors with friends. “When I first got the brief – before I said “yes, absolutely” – I listened to the song for the first time,” says Asher. “During the listen, I was already envisioning choreography and movement to the music. That was when I knew it was going to be fun.” “Anya (Ninoosh) had some specific ideas for the picture, and the concept grew and expanded from there. She wanted it to speak to her experience and condition, as well as feature dream sequences (with her beautiful dog Wilson)." Write up continued in comments ✍️ by @ashermcshane
