A year ago, my life looked completely different. I had some rough moments, made plenty of mistakes, and honestly had no idea where I was headed.

I didn’t fix everything overnight. I just started making better decisions, one day at a time.

A year later, I’m healthier, happier, stronger, surrounded by better people, and actually proud of the direction I’m going.

Still not perfect. Still have a lot to work on.

But I’m not who I was a year ago and that’s enough for me. by @asherowenn

Grief is a strange thing. It doesn’t get easier it just becomes something you learn to carry. There isn’t a single day that Rylan doesn’t cross my mind. Some days I hear a song, see a trail, or finish a workout, and all I can think is how much I wish he were still here.

There are days I wonder if I’ll ever stop wishing I could call him one more time. But if there’s one thing he’s still teaching me, it’s that the best way to honor someone isn’t only by grieving them it’s by living a life that reflects the impact they left behind.
