Super fun open mic last night at @cravenatureseatery! It's not just a mic, it's a free show! Lots of new faces in the audience and new comics. Shout out to to many folks who stuck around the whole time: you supported the comics and made it a lively show from beginning to end! Crave closes early in the winter, so thank you to Crave's owner @wioletta.wyszynski for letting us keep this running past their 8pm closing time!

Ashia McRae threw her hat in the ring and took a shot at stand-up comedy — and ended up becoming a 2026 Jersey Shore Top Comic finalist.

I sat down with Ashia on Tony Talks to hear what that whole experience was really like. We talk about taking that chance, getting on stage, what happened after the show, and how life feels a little different now that people know her as a comic.

But some of my favorite parts of this conversation are the personal ones — hearing how her friends and family reacted, the support she’s gotten, and those little moments where you realize, wait… people are actually taking this seriously now.

Ashia is funny, outspoken and definitely not afraid to say what she thinks.

Whew! What an awesome night 🎤 🔥 Great crowd, great performances, and everybody who showed up SHOWED OUT!

Congratulations to @jaysooofunn for taking home the 💰🏆🥇! Well deserved!

I'm grateful to have been selected as a finalist for Jersey Shore Top Comic and to share stage with such a talented group of comedians. I met some great people, had some big laughs, and got to do what I love in a beautiful venue.

No championship belt for me this time, but I walked away with another great experience, new connections, and some more stage time under my belt. We all won something that night. ❤️🎤

Thank you to The Vogel, Count Basie Center for the Arts, the judges, organizers, sponsors, and everybody who came out to laugh with us. It was an honor to perform for you.❤️💯

Now I'm taking my ass home.
