“Throwback Thursday to one very special corner of California.

Yesterday’s lunch in Mayfair with Visit Monterey and Post Ranch Inn took me straight back to our Pacific Coast Highway road trip. We visited Post Ranch Inn, perched high above the Pacific, and it is one of those places that never really leaves you.
Monterey County for me means wild Big Sur coastline, Carmel‑by‑the‑Sea, incredible food and wine, and even the thrill of Laguna Seca for motorsport fans.

And good news for road trippers: Highway 1 is now fully open through Big Sur again, so that epic coastal drive is back.”

What a day, what a couple and what a celebration! ❤️

Mickelsfield Hall provided the most beautiful setting to celebrate Shivani & Andrew — a couple whose story began on the tennis courts just four years ago and has now led them to this very special moment. 🎾❤️

There was so much love, laughter, a few happy tears and, most importantly, family and friends all together to celebrate two very special people.

We missed Rohit but there wasn’t a moment when we didn’t feel his presence. I know he would have been incredibly proud, and somehow, I’m sure he was watching over the day with the biggest smile.

And as for Shivani she looked absolutely stunning!

A truly beautiful day, full of love, memories and the people who matter most. Here’s to Shivani & Andrew aka Mr & Mrs Long - may the next chapter be every bit as wonderful as the story so far. 🥂❤️

Meet Rosie. ♥️ 🏎️ 🏁

One month in, and we’re absolutely loving our new Mercedes-AMG GLA 35.

After five years without four wheels, we decided it was time. Weekend escapes from London, family visits up north, spontaneous road trips and, inevitably, adventures across Europe. The vineyards of France are already calling… 🇫🇷🍷

But Rosie is much more than just a car.

She’s named after Rohit, Sejal’s eldest brother, who we lost to a brain tumour late last year. “Rosie” was Sej’s affectionate nickname for him - and, as a huge Mercedes fan, we think he’d approve. ❤️

The funny thing is, we weren’t even planning to buy a Mercedes.

We’d been looking at another manufacturer, but after they spectacularly let us down on test-drive day, I mentioned to Sej that I’d been talking to Mercedes about the GLA. Fancy going to have a look?

She didn’t need asking twice.

From the moment we walked into the dealership, everything just felt different. And once Sej got behind the wheel of a GLA, that was pretty much game over.

I’d long coveted the AMG badge, so finding the last UK-available GLA 35 AMG in this stunning Patagonia Red felt like the stars had aligned. ✨

A month later, Rosie has already stretched her legs in the Cotswolds and Birmingham - with me taking every opportunity to discover exactly what those three little letters, AMG, are capable of.

And boy, does she move. 😈

Five years without a car made us forget just how much freedom four wheels can bring. Now there are weekends to escape, roads to discover, people to visit and countries to cross.

But first things first - this weekend I take Rosie to Heathrow to pick up @travelwithsej back from her epic India-Bhutan trip!

This one feels special. Here’s to Rosie - and all the adventures ahead. ♥️

Finally got around to posting my birthday highlights… 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes and, even more so, to everyone who came along to celebrate. It was such a treat to spend my birthday in London for a change. I’m usually somewhere overseas, so I rarely get the chance to gather friends together for a proper summer birthday.

The day kicked off with an incredible tasting menu (and wine pairings 🍷) at Michelin-starred AngloThai - @anglothai - every course was a winner.

From there, we headed to the @constitutioncamden which has quickly become my favourite pub in North West London. Great atmosphere, great company and, yes, gloriously effective air conditioning - which was very much appreciated on such a balmy summer day! 🍻☀️

What made the day truly special, though, was seeing friends from so many different chapters of my life all in one place. It was genuinely heartwarming, and I’m incredibly grateful to each and every one of you for making it such a memorable birthday.

The celebrations didn’t stop there. The following night, @travelwithsej and I headed to Alexandra Palace to see @empireofthesunsound - a band I’d wanted to see live for years. They absolutely delivered, belting out hit after hit with an incredible visual show to match. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd was rocking, and it was the perfect way to round off a brilliant birthday weekend. 🎶✨

Feeling very lucky and excited to see what this next trip around the sun brings. ❤️ 🥳 🎂 🎉

Happy Birthday Ash

Looking through old photos ahead of Ash’s birthday, I found some from Boston in 2002.

It wasn’t just a holiday. It was the start of a trip that took us to a friend’s wedding in Melbourne, on to Fiji, and without either of us knowing it at the time, the beginning of 24 years of exploring the world together.

Since then we’ve managed to set foot on all seven continents.

We’ve stood at the ends of the earth in Antarctica and Tierra del Fuego; watched the power of Iguazú, Victoria and Niagara Falls; spotted the Big Five on dozens of safaris, trekked through impenetrable African forests to glimpse the elusive mountain gorillas; marvelled at giant tortoises in the Galápagos and penguins in Antarctica; climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest, run the Uganda Marathon and skydived over Namibia.

We’ve crossed South Africa aboard the luxury Blue Train, driven some of the world’s great roads including California’s Pacific Coast Highway, wandered through countless ancient wonders (visiting the Taj Mahal together earlier this year was spectacular), and even made time to meet Mickey Mouse along the way in 2024.

Travel has given us experiences and memories beyond anything we could have imagined when we boarded that first flight in 2002.

As Ash celebrates another birthday and gets ready to start an exciting new job, it feels like the perfect moment to reflect on what an incredible 24 years it’s been so far.

There are still plenty of places left on the list.

Happy Birthday, Ash and congratulations on the new role. Here’s to the next chapter and whatever adventures come with it.

Funny how travel starts with a destination, but often the best part is the people you meet along the way.

Last year, in the Galápagos, we met Caroline and her family while exploring one of the most incredible places on earth. We shared a few adventures, some great conversations, and promised to stay in touch.

Fast forward a year, and Caroline was visiting Europe from the USA with her friend Ava. This week, instead of meeting as fellow travellers, we welcomed them into our home for dinner, drinks, and an evening full of laughter and stories.

It’s a reminder that travel isn’t just about seeing new places it’s about creating connections that can turn into genuine friendships, no matter how many miles separate you.

From the Galápagos to our dining table. Cheers to friendships that begin with a chance encounter and continue long after the trip ends.

Cyprus wasn’t a destination that had ever been high on my travel radar, but after spending 7 days exploring the island, it genuinely surprised me. 🇨🇾

From the mosaics of Paphos Archaeological Park and the ancient ruins of Kourion to swimming in the Blue Lagoon, crossing the Green Line and visiting beautiful mountain villages like Omodos, there was far more to see and do than I expected.

A real highlight was discovering Cyprus’ incredible wine heritage with @cyprustastetours visiting @linoswinery @ayiamavriwinery and @zambartaswineries tasting indigenous grape varieties - and meeting the unforgettable 93-year-old Yannis.

The biggest lesson from this trip? Hire a car and get beyond the resort. That’s where Cyprus really shines.

And despite a week of exploring, I left with a list of wineries, villages and hidden corners I’d still love to discover.

8 years ago. 🇺🇬❤️

One of my proudest achievements: taking on the beast that is the Uganda Marathon. 🏃🏽‍♀️🔥

But the race was only part of the story.

Those three weeks were some of the most incredible of my life - reconnecting with the country of my birth, discovering my family’s history, finding the place where I was born, and experiencing Uganda in all its beauty.

And then there were the mountain gorillas. 🦍✨ An experience so special, so humbling, and so unforgettable that no photo or words could ever truly do it justice.

The miles, the hills, the people, the memories, the connection to my roots all of it made this journey one I’ll carry with me forever.

Forever grateful for the adventure. ❤️🇺🇬

South Africa in a glass 🇿🇦🍷

On Friday night, I hosted a South African wine tasting evening at home, making the most of London’s glorious early summer weather and taking the tasting into the garden.

With 12 wonderful guests and @ashjaswal creating some fantastic food pairings, we explored seven wines from across South Africa’s diverse and spectacular wine regions. From sparkling wines and crisp whites to bold reds, each bottle told a story of the country’s remarkable landscapes and winemaking heritage.

South Africa remains my favourite country in the world to visit. After many trips over the years, it was a real pleasure to share a little of its magic with friends for the evening.

Great wine, incredible food, laughter, and stories from one of the most beautiful countries on Earth. 🍇✨

Wine. Safari. Beaches. Mountains. History. Epic scenery. Wonderful people.

South Africa really does have it all.

Sunshine, vineyard views & world-class English sparkling wine 🍾☀️

Spent the weekend at Domaine Evremond in Kent the stunning collaboration between the Taittinger family and Patrick McGrath MW, and one of England’s most exciting wine destinations.

From chalk-rich vineyards to beautifully designed cellars, every part of the experience feels refined, relaxed and seriously impressive.

Tasting the Classic Cuvée while overlooking the vines? A highlight.
