Currently living in leggings and slippers, but at least my lunch has its life together.

The Maple Glazed Salmon Bowl with roasted sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts with hot honey dressing and garlic aioli is SO good.

I think somewhere along the way, a lot of us forget that we’re still growing up too.

We become mothers, and suddenly so much of our energy goes into helping these little humans figure out who they are that we forget we’re still figuring that out ourselves.

But motherhood isn’t the end of becoming who you are.

We’re allowed to change. To find new interests. To make new friends. To chase things that have absolutely nothing to do with being someone’s mom.

And I think there’s something really special about our children getting to witness that.

They aren’t the only ones becoming someone. We are too. 🤍

Lake Tahoe, you never disappoint. 🏔️🌴

We spent the weekend at @margaritavilleresortlaketahoe and had SO much fun!

We took the gondola up Heavenly for some incredible views, spent plenty of time swimming, ate our way through the resort, and honestly just had the best time together.

One of my favorite things? They even have movie nights at the pool for the kids! 🍿

There are plenty of dining options with something for everyone, and the location seriously couldn’t be better. You’re right in the heart of Heavenly Village, so there’s so much to see and do just steps from the resort.

It’s the perfect mix of mountain adventures and a little vacation relaxation. And yes, we will absolutely be back. 🍹

We tried every single drink and food item so you don’t have to… but you’re going to want to. 😂🎃

Drinks, in order from favorite to slightly less favorite:

✨ The Golden Relic
✨ The Cursed Idol
✨ The River Runs Red
✨ Saharan Bloom
✨ Pharaoh’s Reserve
✨ Root of All Evil — this one is STOUT lol

Food was honestly all 10/10.

The pretzels were my favorite, the empanadas were a very close second, and both flatbreads were fantastic.

I am Jane Doe.

Not because I know who she is.
Not because I know exactly what happened to her.

But because I do not know a single woman who has made it through this world without a story.

A hand that went somewhere it shouldn’t.
A “no” that wasn’t listened to.
A night we remember differently than everyone else.
A moment we froze instead of fought.
A person we trusted who crossed a line.
Something we minimized for years because we weren’t sure it was “bad enough” to count.

And now, while people try to figure out who Jane Doe is, women everywhere are saying the same thing:

You don’t get to have her.

You don’t get to turn her identity into entertainment.
You don’t get to make her prove what happened by sacrificing her privacy.
You don’t get to make her carry this alone.

Because for so many of us, Jane Doe isn’t a stranger.

She is our friend.
Our sister.
Our daughter.
Our younger self.

She could be any of us.

So if protecting her means standing beside her without ever knowing her name…

We’re not raising them right if this is the result.

If a woman can be harmed, messages about it can circulate among dozens and dozens of men, and the instinct is silence instead of intervention, then something has gone deeply wrong.

We spend so much time teaching girls how to protect themselves.

Watch your drink.
Don’t walk alone.
Text me when you get home.
Stay with your friends.

But we need to be just as intentional about raising boys who do more than simply not participate.

Raise boys who intervene.
Boys who speak up.
Boys who make it uncomfortable.
Boys who call their friends out.
Boys who get help.
Boys who understand that loyalty is never owed at the expense of someone else’s safety.

Because these boys become men.

And “at least he didn’t participate” is NOT enough.

One of my favorite things about staying at Holliday Lake House was that we never ran out of things to do.

Bass Lake is only 6 miles away, so we rented a boat for the day, and Yosemite’s South Entrance is just 27 miles from the property, which made it so easy to spend another day hiking and exploring.

And somehow, even with all of that nearby, some of our favorite time was still spent right at the house.

It sleeps up to 22 people, sits on 80 private acres, and is such a good option for a family trip, friend getaway, or big group weekend near Yosemite.

Sometimes you need a night that has absolutely nothing to do with being somebody’s mom.

No schedules. No snacks to pack. No one asking me where their shoes are. Just getting dressed up, eating good food, drinking cocktails, laughing way too hard and remembering the version of myself that existed before “mom” became the title I hear most.

I love being their mom more than anything.

But I also really love ✨her✨.

And I think I’m getting better at making sure she doesn’t disappear. 🤍
