She's an ALL-AMERICAN!

6th place at New Balance Nationals!

I'm so incredibly proud of this kid and her resiliency. She has matured so much emotionally over the past few months, learning through adversity. I haven't posted much because her high school season didn't end the way she had hoped with discus. She was lucky enough to have met the qualifying standard for New Balance Nationals prior to districts. Today she did her thing to prove that one bad meet doesn't define you (even though it felt like the end of the world not qualifying for States in discus).

While the goal was to win States, it wasn't in the cards for her. A PR and All-American award at NBN and adding distance to her school record is the perfect way to close the book on her high school sports career. Also, not bad for only starting to throw discus 16 months ago. by @ashleetate

Happy Graduation Day to Lydia! 🌟 Anyone who knows her knows she is a force: fun, spunky, incredibly smart, and definitely not afraid to share her opinions. Have there been days she made me want to pull my hair out? Absolutely. But she has also been my greatest teacher. Through her, I've learned so much about thinking outside the box, the true meaning of creativity, and how to advocate for her through every challenge. Lydia, we know you are destined for incredible success. I mean, since 2nd grade you have stated that you would be Queen of the World. So proud of the woman you are becoming! by @ashleetate

18!!!! My girl is 18 today. If you know Lydia... you know that she is strong, fierce, independent, stubborn and absolutely hilarious. Don't even try to debate her, she will agrue a point until you start to second guess yourself and your sanity. There is so much ahead for this kid. Even consequences in 2nd grade for writing a paper about being queen of the world haven't held her back from believing that she will one day rule the land. I love you Lydia and hope you have the most amazing day and year ahead! by @ashleetate

8... My baby boo, snuggle bug, lovey loo is 8 today! This year he was finally given the opportunity and became sports obsessed. Looking through pictures, I should have known that his passion would one day move from hanging out with his Momma to sports. He's still my sweet, inquisitive boy who cares so deeply about everyone but now he's got this competitiveness about him. Happy Birthday DJ!

Normally kids would celebrate having a weather day on their birthday, not DJ, he's already bored and wants to go to school. by @ashleetate

How cool is this... We have been going through Jamaal's memory box to find pictures for his high school jersey retirement. Today he pulled out a letter with a picture of his first ever bucket in his first game. November 22, 2000 vs none other than Loyola Maryland. Sometimes life makes you say hmmm. by @ashleetate
