One of the questions I get all the time…
“How did you get your husband to start working out with you?”

My answer is always, I didn’t..

Long before we ever stepped foot into a gym together, we had already made some decisions about the kind of life we wanted to build.

My husband’s parents divorced.

My parents stayed married, but not happily.

Communication wasn’t modeled well.

Intentional time together wasn’t modeled well.

And over the years, we’ve lost three parents due to health-related issues.

So for us, health isn’t just health.

And working out isn’t just working out.

It’s stewardship.

It’s being present for our kids.

It’s building a marriage we’re proud of.

It’s refusing to assume we’ll have time later.

It’s refusing to let busyness become an excuse for neglecting what matters most.

So when people ask me how I got my husband to work out with me… I honestly think they’re asking the wrong question.

The better question is
What vision are you building toward together?

Because when the vision is shared, the workout becomes easier.

The walk becomes easier.

The conversation becomes easier.

The calendar adjusts.

Not because life suddenly gives you more time.

But because you’ve already decided what matters.

For us, spending time together isn’t an extra.

Taking care of ourselves isn’t an extra.

Those are the foundations.

This workout routine we have now is simply one expression of a decision we made a long time ago.

If you want to workout with your spouse you need to have a sit down and talk about your family vision and put in the effort that stewards that. 🤍 save this by @ashleighcoryell

For a long time, this page was simply a place where I encouraged moms not to lose themselves in motherhood.

And honestly, That version of this page mattered deeply to me because I was trying to find myself again too.

But over the years, something shifted for me…
What started as encouragement slowly became conviction.

Because behind the scenes, I was navigating my own struggles with:
body image,
all-or-nothing thinking,
burnout,
inconsistency,
people pleasing,
and trying to pour into everyone else while quietly running on empty myself.

And eventually I realized:
women do not need MORE of anything.. we need simple.. we need support. realistic rhythms.
Someone to not just relate to but to propel you into CHANGE. someone to show you that stewarding yourself well can actually fit inside real life and doesn’t have to wait for a more convenient time. This is the time!!!

So I pivoted.

Not away from encouragement…
but toward helping women actually change their lives from the inside out.

Body.
Mind.
Spirit.

That’s what Well Stewarded Woman was built from.

Not perfection or aesthetics (lord knows I’m not the most aesthetic creator out there lol) and certainly
Not “bounce back” or “quick fix” culture.

Just one woman learning how to stop abandoning herself… going deeper than surface level
and helping other women do the same 🤍

This one might step on some toes. But it’s said with so much love..
1) She rarely misses her quiet time with the Lord but taking care of herself is the first thing to go when life gets full.
2) She loves the idea of rest and talks about it often but never actually practices it.
3) She is the first to raise her hand to volunteer in ministry but feels guilty spending time or money investing in herself so that she’s able to serve at a higher capacity.
4) She serves everyone around her faithfully and beautifully but underneath the service doesn’t feel her best in her body.
5) She wants more energy and keeps reaching for coffee but hasn’t connected what she eats, how she moves, and how she sleeps as to why she doesn’t have the very thing she wants more of..

Listen.. too many women in the church are tired, struggling, and internally not as healthy as they appear. We barrel through and wear a smile. (Ask me how I know) and truthfully, That’s not the image I believe God ever wanted for his church. His bride.

Your body was never meant to be the thing you get to last. Caring for it is stewardship. And stewardship is worship. And I intend to build up an army of well-stewarded women changing that narrative within the 4 walls of the church!

Save this if it hit different today and follow for more faith led wellness that actually fits inside your real life.

Small habits rarely feel life-changing in the moment. They become life-changing because you keep choosing them.

Stick around and I’ll have you starting to think about the mundane things of your life differently 🤍 by @ashleighcoryell

On today’s episode of “When caring for your body stops being about what you like and what you feel like doing and starts feeling more like a deep conviction…”

For years, I thought the reason to work out was to lose weight, fit into smaller jeans, feel confident in a bathing suit, or to finally like what I saw in the mirror…

and dont get me wrong.. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting those things… I have goals and I am actively working on them… BUT they make for a terrible foundation.

Because when your motivation is tied to an OUTCOME, it’s easy to quit when life gets busy... or when the scale doesn’t move... or when you simply don’t feel like it.

Everything (and I do mean everything) changed when I realized I had been in hot pursuit with the wrong mindset.. so Instead of asking,
“How can I change my body?”
I started asking,
“How can I be faithful in caring for my body TODAY?”

from there, I don’t work out because I love every workout… (because shocker, I don’t) I work out because I love what caring for my body makes possible.

A clearer mind.
More energy.
More strength.
More patience.
More capacity to serve the people I love.

And the way my body looks is the cherry on top that comes from the obedience.

The deeper reward is becoming the kind of woman who is faithful to what God created.

Maybe you’ve been trying to build consistency with a motivation that was never strong enough to carry you.
OR maybe you don’t need more motivation, you just actually need a better why.

These are all things I help my clients work through with my 1:1 coaching inside my fitness + nutrition cohort. If you want more details for my August group, drop “WSW” and we can start a conversation, no strings attached! by @ashleighcoryell

This conversation needs to be had.. There’s a difference between learning from someone and losing yourself because you're comparing yourself to them. Somewhere between scrolling and studying people and consuming SO MUCH information on this app, a lot of us stop watering our own grass because we’re too busy staring at everyone else’s and wondering if we will ever measure up...

You can watch how someone else waters their life without abandoning or belittling yours in the process. Period.

Your season isn’t hers. Your capacity isn’t hers. Your grass doesn’t need what her grass needed or needs. So take what’s useful, leave the rest, and go water what’s actually yours and watch it grow!

If you’re ready to stop scrolling and start growing.. comment WELL PLANTED and I’ll send you the free roadmap to a life of stewardship by @ashleighcoryell

If there’s one thing I hear constantly, it’s “I don’t have time to workout, maybe one day.” But can I challenge that mindset for a sec 😬

I don’t think that belief is actually about time at all. It’s about believing something small isn’t worth doing unless it’s the whole thing, done at convenient times.. so you can’t even see the short bursts of time you actually have. And that mindset will keep you stuck a lot longer than a busy week ever will.

All or nothing isn’t discipline, by the way. It’s just perfectionism wearing discipline’s clothes. The 15 min walk still counts. The ten minute circuit still counts. Consistency was never about doing it all, it was about doing something, over and over, even when it’s small.

If this is the belief that’s actually been running the show for you, that’s exactly the mindset shift Well Planted walks you through, my free roadmap for figuring out where to actually start.

There aren’t many who would be willing to admit this out loud….
But if your thoughts sound more like criticism than gratitude…
If you’re waiting to love your body until it looks different…
If the scale gets to decide whether you had a “good” week…

It’s worth asking if you’ve unknowingly started seeing your body through cultures lens instead of God’s.

Your body was never meant to be your identity…
or your enemy.

It was given to you to care for..

If you’re ready to start seeing your body through a faith-rooted lens instead of a cultural one, I created a 7-day devotional just for you.

Well Anchored m will help you renew the way you think about your body one day at a time.

Grab it through the link in my bio or comment “ANCHOR” and I’ll send it to you. 🤍 by @ashleighcoryell

The words… 👇🏽

“I’ll eat later.”

Three words she’d heard me say when I was rushing out the door. When life felt busy. When everyone needed something. When I felt overwhelmed.

“I’ll eat later.”

And in that moment, I realized she wasn’t just listening to me… She was also learning from me.

It’s not like I sat her down and taught her to put herself last. She learned it by watching me.

Watching me make everyone else’s plate before making my own. Watching me rush through the day without stopping to eat. Watching me treat my own needs like they could always wait.

And I have a feeling I’m not the only mom who’s done that.

Somewhere in motherhood, many of us started believing this is just what motherhood looks like.

That being a good mom means becoming the most sacrificial… and eventually the most neglected… person in the house. But gosh, I don’t believe that’s biblical stewardship.

Jesus calls us to love sacrificially.. 100%
but He never asks us to disappear inside the very calling He’s given us!

So now, I try to filter even the smallest decisions through a different question:

“What would stewardship look like here?”

If I’m making lunch for my kids… ME TOO

If I’m packing snacks for everyone else… ME TOO

Not because lunch is profound.
But because those little moments are shaping what my kids believe is normal.

They’re learning whether Mom is someone who always waits… or someone who believes she’s part of the life God entrusted her to care for.

if my daughters grow up repeating my words…
I sure hope they sound like this:

“I’ll eat now.”
“I’m going to take the walk.”
“I’m going to keep that promise to myself.”
“I’m going to faithfully care for what God has entrusted to me.”

Because that’s the legacy I want to leave.
Not perfect meals or rigid routines.
But a different way of thinking.

If this made you stop and think, comment PLANTED and I’ll send you my Well Stewarded Woman Roadmap, the simple framework that’s helped me stop living by guilt and start making my next faithful decision instead. by @ashleighcoryell

Ok this one’s a little vulnerable for me, not gonna lie. The 14 year old version of me would be wanting to crawl into a hole knowing im even saying this, but I was a Christian girl who silently struggled with body image all throughout early years of motherhood even! like the kind where you smile through all things and go home and just spiral about how you look, what you want to fix, and how uncomfortable you feel, ya know?!

And I think we don’t talk about that enough. actually I know we dont… the amount of side conversations ive had with other women silently carrying this same struggle… like there’s this weird pressure that if you love Jesus you’re just supposed to have it together, or at least not struggle with something as “surface level” as your body and how to care for it.

But I did… And I don’t hate my body anymore, not because I got smaller or found the right workout or supplement, it was learning how to actually catch that thought before it turned into a whole belief about who I am. it was learning how to pursue health through the lens of stewardship and my identity in Christ.

That’s actually why I wrote a devotional Well Anchored- a faith rooted view of your body, because I needed it myself first, WAY before I ever taught anyone else.

Things we’ve normalized in motherhood that we probably shouldn’t have. Here’s just a few to name a few:
•Skipping meals like they’re optional.
•Saying “I’m fine” on autopilot.
•Living on coffee like it’s a lifeline just to get you through the day.

None of these make you a bad mom, by the way. But they are quietly teaching your kids what adulthood looks like.

And the part no one really wants to talk about is that none of this happens all at once. It’s not one big collapse. It’s a hundred micro normalized moments that add up to one day, you don’t recognize the woman you’ve become, or you don’t love how you feel or the outcome that you have.

And the way out isn’t willing yourself to do the next thing. It’s asking yourself the right questions before you normalize the next one.

I wrote out a free simple roadmap for you to figure out exactly where to start, when you’re the one who got normalized right off your own list.

Just some Sunday afternoon thoughts reeling in my head today..

We went tubing with some family friends, I left my phone in the car, was enjoying the slow pace of the water drifting, kids laughing, and just nature in general and it just made me think… why are we ALL craving a 90’s summer?! And the reality is.. I don’t think it’s actually the 90’s.. I think it’s what the 90’s represents.. and we speak of it right now as if that’s hard to obtain in the present but it’s really a choice.. a choice in the way we steward and move through our days.

Anyways, I’d love to hear your thoughts! by @ashleighcoryell
