a little reintroduction, because it’s been a while 🤍

hi, i’m ashley — a leo ☀️, a hodophile (someone who finds joy and meaning in travel), and a photography adventurer chasing light wherever it lands.

i’m a foodie at heart, always searching for the next local spot worth lingering in — the kind where the coffee is strong, the menu is handwritten, and the stories are even better. i believe in shopping small, eating local, and letting places reveal themselves.

lately, i’ve been falling in love with film again; slowing down, embracing the imperfections, and building a more analog life, one frame at a time.

i’m a bit of a free spirit, always exploring, always wandering, always with a camera in hand. whether it’s a quiet street, a fleeting moment, a gorgeous auto, or a place i’ve never been before, i’m drawn to the feeling of it all.

this space is where i share what i see, what i feel, and where i go next ✨

it’s nice to meet you 😎

Not an ad, just a big fan @campsnapcamera @campsnapscouts 🫶

I have truly loved grabbing my Camp Snap Pro and throwing it in my purse, my backpack, or my hiking pack and shooting analog on the go. It’s taken getting some used to it, and loving the imperfections, but so far I’m really stoked with this purchase. A link in my bio is there if you’re interested in scoping it out and learning more! #CampSnap #campsnappro #contentcreator #photography #analoglife by @ashley.captures

A personal, behind-the-scenes author’s note: I’ve been a bit quiet here lately, but for a very personal reason, the heartbreaking loss of my best buddy. Enzo Ferrari (yes, that was his legal name and was referred to as such in the rare instance he got in trouble) crossed the rainbow bridge a week ago today. He was my adventure buddy, my shadow, my hiking partner, and so much more. He was my everything, and had gone through so many life phases by my side.

I truly lost my best friend, and I miss him so much.

I, quite frankly, use this account to post and feature both my photographic work and adventure content at my leisure, rather than having to post for an algorithm. It’s what I feel, when I feel, and if it grows slowly, so be it. But that said, please understand that while I may take a break and step back for as long as I need, as my creative spark has been somewhat dimmed, I will be back behind the lens soon.

Fall is coming, and there’s no place I love more in an Indiana autumn than @nashvilleindiana and @ilovebrowncounty. These are just a handful of my favorite spots when visiting.

The best part? It’s only just an hour from Indianapolis — such an easy day trip or weekend getaway. 🍂

Friday Night Lights 🏈

It’s county rivalry night for @mcgoldenbears_ Varsity Football, matching up against Winchester. I had the pleasure of photographing the Bears a few weeks back, during their home-opener against Union County. They’re currently 2-0 with 40+ point wins versus their first two opponents this season, heading into their third game of the fall.

While I haven’t generally shot high school sports, this set is special to me, as my rad nephew is a senior on the squad and I’m certainly going to capture as much as I can for him. It’s special to both of us.

So proud of you, bub. 🐻
