My mom was a badass. She was strong, kind, and an all around amazing person. She taught me how to stand up for myself, to push past my beliefs, and to keep my head high while things are falling apart around me. She was there to hold my hand when things got hard, and wipe my tears when things felt unbearable. I miss her love.

Happy mother’s day momma. I love you and will always consider myself the luckiest girl alive because I got to experience being your daughter.

side note:
Losing my mom is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through and something that I still struggle with everyday of my life. There are days when i feel like I can’t keep up; like a constant race where grief is the front runner and I am continuously stopping to gasp for air. But then I look at the sidelines and see my sister rooting for me. my friends, my cousins, my family and I realize I am the one in front. I want to thank everyone who has been there for me through this life, your love and support mean the world to me.

Death is heavy. Cancer is no friend of mine. and if you or someone you love is also struggling with anything related to those things, you are not alone. It can feel isolating and scary but reaching out, asking for help, and telling people when you are hurting makes the world of a difference.

With a heavy heart I would like to share with all of her beloved friends and family that our Mother passed peacefully early this morning. As most of you know, she has been battling Triple negative breast cancer since 2017. This morning is was finally time for her to stop the pain and be at peace.
She leaves behind Haley and I, Father Don Maxwell and stepmother Gail Maxwell, brother Doug Maxwell and his wife Ana Maxwell, niece Alexis Cole, her husband Brandon Cole and son Phoenix Cole and nephew Hunter Maxwell.
My Mother was the best person that I have ever known and she will forever have a lasting impact on everyone that was lucky enough to be her friend. Or family. Her last birthday was in October and I wrote her a letter. I won’t post the whole thing, but the part that resonated with me the most;
“So when you are gone and I long for your touch,
I will embrace the warmth of the sun,
Sing with the breeze
And kiss the stars.
Because you will never really be gone,
You’ll live forever in me.
