Alejandro Reyes next to me in the first picture is one of MANY humans suffering injustices under this administration, Alejandro was taken by ICE to a cemetery where they beat him. A hard working, FAMILY man. This is not about criminals, this is about POWER.

Throughout this shoot I couldn’t help but think of the many times my father and I spoke about him giving his “testimony” one day… He wrote this in his journal because he knew God had a purpose for him and his story despite his struggle. If you’re reading this and feel like there’s nothing else left for you, your story isn’t over yet and your pain doesn’t define you- your pain has purpose.

When my dad would talk about his plans for retirement it was always the same plan. Una casita en el campo, con animales, donde solo se escuchaban los pajaritos… when I was little I never understood why he wanted such a “boring” life.. Now I realize he had worked so hard to be able to have a peaceful life one day… Being somewhere my dad loved so much has been so grounding, and I feel so connected to him here… We are so blessed to have been able to fulfill his wish of being laid to rest in his hometown.. <3 He was always so proud of his roots and so am I, mi tierra linda…<3 taken in San Lorenzo, San Vicente by @ashleyd.x

I have no words for how I feel. I just know I love you and I’ll love you forever. You’re the reason I have the heart I do, the reason I help anyone when I can, you always instilled love and good morals into us. You came here at 17 with nothing but dreams and aspirations , I’ll forever be in debt with you. Thank you for blessing us with your presence for the time we had you. You will live on forever.
