Years past, I usually went to the fair for a couple hours at most, check out the cattle, and then go home.

But this year was a different experience- and was just what my soul needed. As always, the cattle were magical, majestic and beautiful. The crowds were a sight to behold. And, for the first time in my life, I laughed my little heart out as I rode a mechanical bull.

I kinda love experiencing the same event in a whole new light, with the sweetest pals in tow.

Discovering new places to do nothing but appreciate time shared with Rooney. No rush to go anywhere, see anything, or chase the next best thing.

I’ve realized that when I’m truly happy somewhere, I stop searching for a better place to be. I just stay there awhile, leaning into the in-between, the quiet, the stillness. Allowing myself to fully sink into the contentment of it all. taken in Hensonville, New York by @ashleyolive

For years I had this idea floating around in my head: take a couple days and drive down to Beacon to experience Dia.

But there was always a reason to wait. Timing. Logistics. Not having someone to go with. The strange “responsible adult” instinct to only do things that are “productive.”

Then a couple weeks ago I thought: if I die tomorrow, I’ll be pretty heartbroken that I never followed this thread of curiosity because I was waiting for the “perfect” time.

So I went.
And truthfully, I am still reeling.
My heart is so full.
