I stopped wanting income that made me prove myself all over again every 30 days.

That’s what wage income felt like.

Work the hours.
Get paid.
Spend it.
Go work more hours.

And even when I moved into sales, one-time commissions can create the same problem.

You can have an incredible month and still wake up on the 1st needing to recreate the entire number again.

That’s what changed for me when I understood recurring revenue.

I didn’t just want to make more money.

I wanted to build income that could stack.

One customer.
Then another.
Then another.

And as long as those customers stay and continue using the service, the revenue has the opportunity to keep carrying forward.

That’s the part people miss.

The goal isn’t just to make $10K this month.

The goal is to build something where next month you’re not asking,

“How do I make that $10K again?”

You’re asking,

“How do I add to it?”

That’s a completely different game.

The last 10 years have looked like taking chances before I knew how they would turn out.

Learning how to sell.
Building businesses.
Making money.
Losing money.
Starting over.
Investing.
Taking on bigger risks.
Making mistakes.
Raising a family in the middle of it all.
And constantly becoming someone capable of carrying more.

There were years I thought I’d be further ahead by now.

But when I look back, I realize I wasn’t standing still.

I was building the skills, confidence, relationships, resilience, and experience I needed for what I’m building now.

10 years later, I’m still hungry.

Still learning.
Still building.
Still betting on myself.

And I think the next 10 are going to make the last 10 make a whole lot more sense.

cut out the distractions and focus on the numbers that create sales. 👇🏽

you don’t need more motivation. you need a system. every day at a minimum do the following:

make 80 calls at minimum to start conversations.

talk to 10 decision makers. get in front of the people who can actually say yes.

schedule 3 appointments. turn conversations into real opportunities.

close 1 deal. turn your daily activity into revenue.

The secret system you need 👇

The daily objective needs to be:

1. Make 80 calls where you create opportunities. 📞
2. Have 10 decision-maker conversations where you talk to the people who can actually say yes. 🗣️
3. Set 3 appointments where you get the chance to solve a problem. 📅
4. Get 1 closed deal where the activity turns into revenue. 💰

Do this every day. ✅

Stop focusing on whether someone says yes today. Focus on hitting the numbers that eventually make the yes inevitable.

I used to think a financial win had to be big before it was worth talking about.

In the beginning, mine weren’t.

It was an extra amount of money that could cover a subscription. Then another win covered a bill. Then the wins started getting bigger, and suddenly they were covering expenses that actually changed something for me.

And somewhere along the way, my thinking changed too.

I stopped looking at every win and wondering, Is this significant enough to share? Are people going to think I’m bragging?

Because I remember what it felt like when even replacing one small monthly expense mattered.

Now, when I share the numbers, it’s not because I need the money to prove something about me.

It’s because somebody else might be where I was—trying to figure out whether the thing they’re building could actually become something.

Sometimes seeing somebody else’s win is what makes you believe your own is possible. #storytellingcontentchallenge by @ashleyperezinvests

I’m a mother of two, and I’m a little embarrassed to admit that sometimes I miss how easy it was to chase success before I had kids.

1. Before children, I could make a schedule and actually expect my day to follow it. Now I can have everything organized at 7:00 AM and have the entire plan change by 7:30.

2. I still struggle with the fact that I don’t always gracefully accept the interruption to my schedule. Sometimes I’m frustrated because I know exactly what I wanted to accomplish that day.

3. There are days when I look at how disciplined and structured I used to be and wonder, What happened to her? I could work longer. Focus longer. Push harder. And almost everything revolved around what I needed to get done.

4. But there’s another truth that’s harder for me to admit: sometimes I resent how much longer everything feels like it’s going to take. Not my children. The time. I have huge goals. I know what I’m capable of. And there are moments when I wish I could give those goals the same uninterrupted version of me that existed before motherhood.

5. There are definite times where I can feel behind even when I’m actually accomplishing a lot. I’m comparing my current pace to a version of myself who had completely different responsibilities.

6. I’m learning that success in this season may take longer than I originally wanted it to.

I really don’t like admitting that.

But I’m learning that a longer road doesn’t mean I’m on the wrong road.
