Here she is – my new risograph print created for the Horse Girl Energy exhibition opening tonight at @schoolhouse_studios 💝

Vale Dolly Parton. I was so sad find out this morning that she has left this world.

She was a pioneer of country music, a generous soul, and she had a wicked sense of humour.

I illustrated this portrait of her for my zine All Nighter in January 2020. I had just listened to the entire podcast series of Dolly Parton's America in one sitting. I highly recommend it if you'd like to learn more about her or relive some of her incredible moments. by @ashleyronning

I'm thrilled to be a part of the upcoming Destash Market (run by the good folks at @wearesecondchancestudio)

My table will feature paper, vintage craft books, stationery, fabric and more. I've been a crafter all my life, and its so easy to squirrel away bits and bobs until the craft box overfloweth. I need to downsize.

I'll share more of what I'm bringing before the big day!

Hey fronds – new and old! I'm here to remind you that I have a little ol online shoppe and I want to spruik some of my wares. Prints, zines and stickers, oh my!

Also... its been a tough month! I had a week of burnout recovery, then I went interstate to visit family, and then I had covid last week! I've missed out on a lot of income lately, both from my freelance work and my side-gig doing support work.

If you've been thinking about buying something or haven't checked out the shoppe yet, please do. I've even put a few things on sale just for this week.

I've also restocked my stickers and added the beautiful book I made with @zenobiaahmed about @heliopress !

You can also find some of these things in real life at @pinkys_store_melbourne in Preston and @shuhlee in the CBD.

As we approach the silly season (yikes) don't forget to support small businesses and local creatives.

HERE IT IS... the full Tiny Crunchy comic 💎 made for Parallel Panels earlier this year.

I loved being a part of Parallel Panels – a writers room of comic artists from Melbourne and Bucheon. We each handed over a comic with all the text taken out, and gathered weekly for two months to write our own versions of everyone's work! It was such a blast to see everyone's unique and sometimes surprising takes on each other's stories. Thanks so much @melcityoflit for making it all happen.

I'm thinking I might make a riso printed version of this comic for Festival Of The Photocopier zine fair next year if anyone is interested?

Can anyone relate to my feelings about Tiny Crunchy and Slimy Fruit? Or perhaps another weird sensory vibe? What's your version of these extreme taste sensations? by @ashleyronning

I'm back in the studio after a very overdue week off to recover from burn out. I would love to have a month off, but I gotta keep the lights on somehow! I didn't do anything fantastic – mainly napping and watching RHOBH.

Plasti-zine is BACK in the online shop.

I love this zine and even though it’s on its third print run I feel like it’s a bit underrated maybe because people don’t realise it’s riso printed? Like, how could three riso ink colours be so perfectly layers to look like a full colour full dream plasticine wonderland???

I loved illustrating and riso printing this poster for Naarm's most iconic lesbian musician @maxinegillon 👠

She came to me with this concept (down to the chanel suit) and I was SO thrilled to dive in to creating it.

Chiitan☆ says PROTECT TRANS LIVES! 💖💫🏳️‍⚧️

I’ve made a @chiitan7407 fan art piece for @megaloprintstudio’s new BOOTLEG exhibition! I’ve been a fan of Chiitan for years – a beloved otter fairy chaos monster mascot. I noticed a few months ago that they were sharing beautiful messages of support for the trans community and that made me so happy that I wanted to make a print about it!!! This fan art is for Chiitan and the trans community 🏳️‍⚧️💫

I was just reminded of this incredible project SkyKnit – knitters collaborating with a neural network to make strange and beautiful knitted artworks. @frankiemagazine published an article about it in 2018, written by Lucy Corry and illustrated by me.

Artificial Intelligence has come so far since this article has come out... the capitalism mega machine has taken over the AI space, and is swiftly decimating real peoples' jobs and the environment.

AI can be used in interesting and innovative ways! But don't let the evil side of AI rot your brain. by @ashleyronning

Gentle but Urgent

A phrase that came to me while thinking about how to move forward in this world where everything seems to slide backwards…

I made this as a mini print to fill spare room on a riso print job. These quick drawings lately have become my favourite artworks. No pressure, just drawing.

You can only get these in mystery packs or perhaps at @otherworldszinefair next month… but any orders in my online shop this week can have a hand painted mini print as a treat 🦋 by @ashleyronning

Vrrroooommm vrroommm!!! Watch out – Nic Tsourlenes is on her way through and she's lookin' for trouble!!!! 💀🔥🏁

I worked with amazing badass photographer @connectedphotography on a line of merch! She had this incredible idea of a punk skeleton speeding past in a wheelchair, and I had a blast illustrating her vision.

Inspired by punk rock tshirts, Mad Max and @sampetercine's amazing apocolypse wheelchair 🔥
