If breastfeeding feels confusing, overwhelming, or harder than you expected… you’re not doing anything wrong 🤍

I’ve been there
I didn’t become a lactation consultant because it came naturally
I became one because it didn’t

I know what it feels like to leave an appointment more stressed than when you walked in

That’s why my approach is calm, personalized, and actually practical

You deserve support that makes you feel confident, not second guessing everything

I’m so glad you’re here 🫶🏼

You do NOT have to wait until breastfeeding becomes painful or overwhelming to learn how to breastfeed.

So many moms prepare for pregnancy and birth, but breastfeeding gets pushed to the side with the idea that you’ll just figure it out once baby gets here.

Then baby arrives and suddenly you’re trying to understand latch, feeding cues, milk supply, cluster feeding, pumping and whether baby is actually getting enough…while recovering from birth and running on very little sleep.

✨ Breastfeeding Foundations was created to give you the information I wish every parent had before bringing their baby home.

We cover latch and positioning, milk supply, the first days postpartum, pumping basics, combo feeding, common myths and more.

If your nipple comes out looking like a tube of lipstick after feeding, your baby may not have achieved a deep latch.
A pinched nipple is often a sign that the nipple was compressed against your baby’s hard palate during the feeding.

This can lead to:
🤍 Nipple pain
🤍 Cracked nipples
🤍 Poor milk transfer
🤍 Longer feeds
🤍 Frustration for both you and your baby

A painful latch isn’t something you simply have to “push through.”

A few small adjustments to positioning and latch can make a huge difference.

💗 Want to go into birth feeling confident instead of overwhelmed?

My self paced Breastfeeding Foundations course is designed to help you feel prepared for your breastfeeding journey with the education I wish every family had before bringing home their baby.

Breastfeeding a newborn doesn’t always look the way you expect. 🤍

Frequent feeding, cluster feeding, sleepy feeds, wanting to nurse again shortly after a feed…these can all leave new parents wondering, “Is this normal?”

Knowing what to expect before baby arrives can make those first few days feel a whole lot less overwhelming.

✨ That’s exactly why I created Breastfeeding Foundations.

My prenatal and early postpartum breastfeeding course walks you through latch and positioning, milk supply, what to expect in the first days, pumping basics, combo feeding, common breastfeeding myths and more.

Because 2 AM with a brand new baby is not when you want to be learning all of this for the first time.

How often should your breastfed baby eat? 🤱🏼🩷

One of the most common questions I hear from breastfeeding parents is, “How do I know if my baby is eating often enough?”

The answer changes as your baby grows, but feeding frequency is only one piece of the picture. Instead of focusing only on the clock, pay attention to your baby’s hunger cues, diaper output, weight gain, milk transfer, and how feeding is going overall.

And remember, breastfed babies don’t always follow a perfect schedule. Some days they may want to nurse more frequently, cluster feed, or suddenly change their normal pattern. That can be completely normal.

Save this guide for those moments when you’re wondering, “Wait… didn’t I JUST feed you?” 😂

If you’re concerned about your baby’s feeding frequency, milk transfer, latch, or weight gain, working with an IBCLC can help you figure out what’s happening for your baby. 🩷

A deep latch isn’t just about getting more of the breast into baby’s mouth. It’s about comfort, milk transfer, and effective feeding. 🤍

Signs baby has a deep, effective latch:
✨ Mouth opens nice and wide
✨ More areola is visible above baby’s upper lip
✨ Chin is tucked deeply into the breast
✨ Nose is free or lightly touching the breast
✨ Baby’s body looks relaxed and comfortable
✨ You feel a strong, deep pulling sensation without pinching or pain

Breastfeeding may feel like strong tugging, but it shouldn’t hurt. Persistent nipple pain, pinching, clicking, slipping off, or nipple damage can be signs that something needs adjusting.

Want to feel more confident with latch, positioning, milk supply, and those first few weeks of breastfeeding? 🤍 My Breastfeeding Foundations course walks you through everything I wish every parent knew before baby arrives. Find it through the link in my bio or comment FOUNDATIONS.

A shallow latch isn’t always obvious 👀

And just because baby is on the breast doesn’t necessarily mean the latch is deep or effective.

Signs of a shallow latch can include nipple pain or damage, clicking, slipping on and off the breast, long feeds, or baby struggling to transfer milk effectively.

A deeper latch can help baby transfer milk more efficiently while making breastfeeding much more comfortable for you. 🤍

Want to feel more prepared before baby arrives? 🤍 My Breastfeeding Foundations course walks you through latch, positioning, milk supply, what to expect in those first days, pumping basics and more, so you can go into breastfeeding feeling prepared instead of overwhelmed.
