What I read in July and August. 📚

📖 The Chase by Elle Kennedy: 4 ⭐️. Obvs because I loved Off Campus so much, I had to start on the Briar U series too. A v fun and easy read. There are three more books in the series, but I’m going to read one a month to make it last longer. 😂

📖 The Ravenhood series (Flock, Exodus and The Finish Line) by Kate Stewart: 4 ⭐️. Ticked off this series, for some reason going into it i thought it was romantasy (it’s not 😂). Quite liked that the plot was different, felt it dragged in places, but it all comes together (finally) in the end.

📖 Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck: 4 ⭐️. I’m still thinking about this book weeks after finishing it. A pretty short read with lots of themes covered well in it, so worth giving a go.

📖 Six thinking hats by Edward de Bono: 4 ⭐️. I like the concept of the different thinking hats, will see if I actually apply it in practice. by @ashlxgh

JULY!!! Lots of birthday’s celebrated (and a few cakes baked), read some more books, had a lovely massage with mum, became an Aunty (😭), enjoyed the cold yet gorg winter days, wore my sparkly jeans again (yay!), lovely time spent with my Great Aunt, moved the bod, saw the Odyssey and haven’t stopped talking about it, was humbled (again) doing F1 sim racing and all of the other lovely moments with hub, friends + fam. 💌 by @ashlxgh

Read some goodies in May and June!!

📖 Rites of the Starling (Shield of Sparrows 2) by Devney Perry: 5 ⭐️. Second book in the series and initially I was a bit confused about the new pov, but holy did it all come together. Excited for the third/final book to come out!!!

📖 Signs: The secret language of the universe by Laura Lynne Jackson: 5 ⭐️. I listened to this on my walks (since running was on hold). I personally love hearing about signs people have experienced or unexplained synchronicities, and how to recognise them yourself. If you’re into this too, def worth a read or listen.

📖 Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy: 4.5 ⭐️. After watching the tv series I immediately downloaded these on my kindle. Def easy and entertaining romance reads, although they do lightly navigate some more complex themes too. If I had to pick a favourite out of the four it would probably be the first one, The Score/ Garrett & Hannah’s book.

📖 The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros: 5 ⭐️. Another masterpiece. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, her contemporaries are so so so damn good! Spoiler: I cried multiple times and once of those times so much that my face was stinging. 😭😂

📖 The Midnight Library by Matt Haig: 4 ⭐️. This was a rec from B (and I love a rec), so I purchased it as my plane read for China, but then I didn’t read it on the plane as planned, oops. I really liked it! I found it made me reflect on my life so far and how different decisions could have led me down different paths

JUNE!!! A v social month with lots of catch ups with friends and met two of their new baby boys (🥹), appreciated the little things, enjoyed some glorious walks in the winter sunshine, read a couple of books, watched a couple of movies, shared the most delish sponge cake with mum, played around with watercolour + more air dry clay projects, listened to some vinyl, and celebrated Millie & Baby Snell. 🫶🫶 by @ashlxgh

MAY! Birthday month, saw a few sunrises, made some yummy food, watched Off Campus (and then started the books), caught up with friends, had a lovely long weekend Raglan, took some special photos of my brother and SIL, started hobbymaxxing and more. What a gift! 💝 by @ashlxgh
