I speak about the transformation of yoga retreats not just from the seat of a leader and witness, but from the seat of someone who first immersed on retreat as an attendee, and left forever changed.

I’m naming what the true power of retreats offer. The kind of experience that rearranges you, the space that calls you forward, and asks you to rise.

In 2018 I attended my first yoga retreat in Nicaragua that changed the entire course of my life and led me to where I am today.

I remember the precise moment it happened, sitting in meditation with the crashing waves and rising sun, feeling an unmistakable surge of clarity. A knowing that my life was asking for a deeper, braver devotion to my path.

I returned home and honored that knowing.
I ended a long-term relationship, had my heart broken, moved out of the house I had just bought, and stepped into the mystery with no plan… only a fierce trust that I was crossing a threshold into my next evolution.

Fast forward one year later… in 2019 I led my first retreat in Panama bringing with me 18 extraordinary humans. And from there, a new path unfolded, one I only dreamt of and hoped for. A path that is now my life’s work, and one I am endlessly grateful to walk.

That first retreat I said yes to attending was the experience that woke me up and propelled my dreams and aspirations to lead retreats into the reality that I live today.

Since then, I’ve led 8 global retreats, witnessing others experience the same potent alchemy that once altered the entire course of my own life.
This work continues to remind me that transformation is contagious, even inventible on retreat.

This is the power of retreats.
It reorients you. Cracks you open.
It invites you into the next evolution of self.

And now… I’m calling in the next circle.

✨ If you feel the pull, the draw, the knowing, Morocco 2026 is waiting for you.

Come step into the desert air, the sanctuary, the space of retreat: the lineage of transformation that has changed countless lives… including mine. by @ashlynbugbee

PSA: We’re halfway through 2026.

This is the perfect time to ask yourself one question:
How do I want to feel entering 2027?

If your answer is clearer, lighter, more connected... I know just the place. 🇬🇹

Who’s in?

Send this to a friend you want to ring in the New Year with on a yoga retreat in Guatemala.

Sometimes you’re not grieving the place.
You’re grieving the version of yourself that existed there.
The next time you catch yourself saying, “I miss my old life,” ask yourself:
What feeling am I actually missing?
That’s where the real answer is.

Have you ever looked at someone after they came back from a trip and thought they looked… different?

Not because of the tan.
Or the souvenirs they’re wearing.

But theres just something about them that’s softer. Lighter. More alive.

I notice this every single retreat.
People laugh louder.
Stand taller.
Make decisions they’ve been putting off for years.
Remember what it feels like to be inspired by life again.

It’s wild how much can change when you spend a week moving your body, practicing presence, surrounded by community, having conversations that actually matter, and reconnecting with yourself.

Have you ever felt like everyone else got the manual for life... except you?

Like everyone else knows what they’re doing.
How to navigate change.
How to build meaningful connections.
How to get more from life than just going through the motions.
How to feel so... sure of themselves.

Meanwhile, you’re over here figuring it out as you go.

Here’s what I wish more people knew:
Isolation has a funny way of convincing you your struggles are unique.

Then you go on a retreat, step into a room full of people who are willing to be honest...
And someone says the exact thing you’ve been navigating in silence.
Then the conversations get real.

Suddenly, you’re not the only one anymore.
You realize everyone is carrying something.

You borrow courage from the people around you.
You see what’s possible.
You realize growth isn’t just personal, it’s contagious.

That’s what actually changes you.
Not because someone else does the work for you.
But because being surrounded by people who are doing the work makes it easier to keep choosing your own.
That’s why the most transformational part of retreat isn’t the destination, food, or agenda.

It’s finding the kind of connection that reminds you who you are.

Come spend a week with people who remind you what’s possible. The NYE Guatemala retreat is filling, there might just be a seat meant for you there! by @ashlynbugbee

I’m in season of starting over. (Again.)
Who else is rebuilding their life right now?

After uprooting my life in Colorado to a small town in California, I’m doing it all over again.
(San Diego, here I come!)

But here’s what no one tells you…
Starting over doesn’t just change you.
It exposes you.

It exposes how you respond when life doesn’t give you answers.
It exposes how much you trust yourself when the plan disappears.
It exposes the relationship you’ve built with uncertainty.

The good news?

Exposure leads to expansion.

Growth isn’t measured by how easy life becomes.
It’s measured by how differently you respond to the exact same uncertainty.

So if life is asking you to begin again, maybe it’s not testing you.
Maybe it’s revealing just how much you’ve grown.

Who else is pivoting? 👇 taken in San Diego, California by @ashlynbugbee

January 2027 might feel far away right now.
Summer is just getting started. Life is busy.
New Year’s probably isn’t even on your radar yet.

One thing I’ve learned after leading retreats for years is that the experiences that transform you rarely happen because you finally found the perfect time.

They happen because one day you decided to trust who you were becoming more than who you’ve been.
And everything started shifting from there.

✨You stop waiting.
✨You choose growth before we felt ready.
✨You said yes to the person you’re becoming.

This New Year’s we’ll gather on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala for a week of yoga, adventure, reflection, intention, and community as we welcome in 2027 together.

Who’s dreaming of spending their NYE here?! 😍 taken in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala by @ashlynbugbee

I spent years thinking confidence was the thing standing between me and the life I wanted.

But the more I teach, lead retreats, and watch people transform, the more I see a different pattern:

Most people don’t need more confidence.

They need more capacity.
Capacity to be seen.
Capacity to truly connect.
Capacity to handle uncertainty.
Capacity to hold bigger opportunities, deeper relationships, and more responsibility.

Often the thing we’re asking for isn’t being withheld from us.
We’re simply being invited to become the kind of person who can hold it.

A few signs you may be bumping up against a capacity edge:

→ You want visibility, but avoid sharing your voice.
→ You want connection, but struggle with vulnerability.
→ You want change, but keep reaching for what’s familiar.
→ You want more, but feel overwhelmed when more arrives.

The good news?
Capacity isn’t something you’re born with.
It’s something you build.
Through practice.
Through discomfort.
Through choosing, again and again, to stay open to the life you’re asking for.

Save this for the next time you think you need more confidence.

You may just need a bigger container. by @ashlynbugbee

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Ashlyn and Evan’s wedding at Willka T’ika.

For their celebration, several of our gardens were transformed into gathering spaces for family and friends, surrounded by flowers, mountain views, and the natural beauty of the Sacred Valley.

Thank you, Ashlyn and Evan, for choosing Willka T’ika for this special occasion. We wish you both many happy years ahead, and many vow-renewals in Peru!

📣 Registration is OPEN for the upcoming New Years Eve retreat in Guatemala! 🌺🌋🌈

After leading retreats for years, I started realizing I didn’t want to spend New Years in loud bars, crowded parties surrounded by strangers or moving into a new chapter unconsciously.

And I think a lot of us are also tired of entering another year exhausted, disconnected, overstimulated, and unintentionally repeating the same patterns.

So I created a retreat where together in community, we can honor entering a new era in one of the most beautiful places in the world!

Rather than rushing into another year from exhaustion or autopilot, imagine entering 2027 with clarity, devotion, and presence.

Let’s ring in the New Year together December 27 - January 2, 2027.
