Recalculating route… 🌐

Geospatial technology promised to make place more accessible, more searchable, more known. But the closer a place gets to being documented, traced, mapped, and surveilled, the further it moves from the people nearest to it.

This show asks not what it means to find something, but what meaning is made by already being somewhere.

35 million lives saved.

I’ve seen the reach of USAID firsthand, from West Africa to the Middle East, where its work has meant survival, dignity, and hope. Despite accounting for just 0.6% of the national budget, the agency has truly prevented millions of unnecessary deaths.

Now, efforts to dismantle it threaten not only the 10,000 American workers who have dedicated their lives to this mission, but also the millions who depend on it. This is a choice to be cruel.

Update: USAID has been effectively dismantled. Food that was meant to be dispersed has rotted. Vaccines that global communities rely on have had their shipments halted.

Exciting news—my first photobook Fabricated Landscapes is now available!

The collection captures the rapid growth of Asia’s megacities, exploring how technological integration, surveillance, and increasing density are shaping these urban landscapes.

After months of wandering down sketchy alleyways, venturing to the edges of forgotten outskirts, and finding secret vantage points, I’m thrilled to share this project with you all.

You can order your copy through the link in my bio.

Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way—it means the world! by @ashreeder
