Another reason I want to read Little Women āœ”ļøOur Perfect Storm by Carley Fortuneāļø 4.5 I want to start with where this fell short for me before I begin my beautiful roses to this story. I love a good slow burn, and I love some yearning, but this was like so blatantly obvious the fact things weren’t catching on or progressing faster felt a bit ridiculous. LIKE JUST KISS ALREADY!!! Like let’s be so fr right now LOL. Then the pulling back when something does happen and the next day being like that happened in the opposite direction? I was like bruh, come on now. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to really get into it. But then it happened. I felt their love so violently and so fully that by the end I forgot everything I was complaining about. I was completely absorbed in their words and lost to the pages that makes it feel like a requirement for this reading experience. The characters felt as real as myself, and their feelings were so vibrant in my brain that I feel so sad knowing that I will never see or hear from them again now that the story is over. I will recover, it wasn’t a new all-time favorite but it reminds me why I will always pick up a Carley Fortune book. And I will always just imagine George and Frankie making a home with each other everywhere they go. by @ashsbooksta

Summer reading is the best reading šŸ–ļøI used to never look forward to the summer months for reading because it was always about school assigned reading in the summer, now I LOVE it because I get to read whatever I want. And there is definitely something about being able to read a beachy read in the hottest months to feel like you’re experiencing summer without the sunburns šŸ„µšŸ˜‚Can’t lie, I’m 1000% ready for fall! But summer is still a place I love to go to in my books and I look forward to it every year 🤭 by @ashsbooksta

Annabel Monaghan quotes are the best quotes >It’s a Love Story by Annabel Monaghan āļø 4.75I loved it!!! The looks and tension and build up!!! All the small moments between them 🄹🄹🄹🄹🄹It was literally so cute and I loved it all. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is because it started a little slow to me and the third act conflict resolution felt a little lack luster to me. But I LOVE Dan, how could you ever think to hate him?!?! šŸ˜‚I was squealing, kicking my feet, alllll the above. Not to mention the fact that I would love to join the mob (iykyk 🄹). Like it was my favorite dynamic to read between all the characters and I honestly just wanted to stay there the whole time and never leave again. Ugh there’s so much to say about this book, I left it with my heart feeling lighter and happier and that’s all I can ask for šŸ’› by @ashsbooksta

A Noah Kahan reference AND a reference about how rare shark attacks are??? I knew this would be a book for me HAHA. The Love Haters by Katherine Centerāļø 4.75I am SO happy I took a second chance on Katherine Center because I am just loving everything now!!! I love Hutch and I love the originality of the plot, and I just love it all! I understand the importance of addressing things like body dysmorphia and eating disorders are, but as someone that can’t relate I struggled to get in that head space when it constantly kept getting brought up, which knocked it down to 4.75 for me because I just wanted more Hutch yearning!!! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚There was genuinely nothing wrong with this book. It was great and touching and I love how easy it was to fall in love with every character. Perfect summer read that I’ll def be thinking about for a while. So good!!! by @ashsbooksta

I am still not over my library, I literally cannot believe how beautiful it is and it turned out better than my wildest dreams 🄹When I started the transformation when moving, I thought I could make it look cute, but this? This to me is stunning and I never want to leave once I go inside. I highly suggest living out your home library dreams whenever you can šŸ’› by @ashsbooksta

They say the housing market is insaneā€¦šŸ”Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashinoāļø 5Of course the buyers are going to be too HAHA. I loved this! I thought this book was going to be a lot more campy, which made me timid on how much I was going to enjoy it, but I actually LOVED it! It’s one of those things where the whole point is that the main character is obsessed and just gets crazier, but even I was still wanting her to get the house for it all to be worth it (not condoning the actions obv LOL). I think the author did it in the perfect way so I would feel that way. She made the main character unlikable in her fixation, but she also developed other characters to be unlikable so that out of entertainment we wouldn’t be as upset as a reader to the path the book was taking. And it was done, PERFECTLY. The gentle yet swift dive into madness left my mouth wide open at multiple points and honestly laughing at the insanity of it all. I thought this was perfect and so good, can’t wait for the adaptation I guarantee, if done right, it will be a hit! by @ashsbooksta

This book, like the first, is both a romance and a mystery, but unlike the first, lacked heavily in both areas. An Heiress’s Guide to Deception and Desire by Manda Collinsāļø 2This is a second chance romance without the romance. It’s also a kidnapping mystery with no urgency or excitement. Altogether it rated pretty low, but I love the characters because of the first one so it got a second star for that reason alone. NOT TO BE MEAN- BUT—First, the romance. There was none. It felt like any chance there was to build any romance between the characters, the mystery was used at convenient moments to distract you from the lack of romance or to avoid the time it would take to write one I guess? Not to mention that this is a second chance romance, which typically means we would get even some insight into how they fell in love the first time and we have those feelings towards the couple? Yeah no, not here. We’re told they were secretly engaged and then we found out what separated them, and that is all. No meet cute moments or flashbacks in the past, and no romance in the present. Like, their betrothal the second time wasn’t even romantic, it was convenience, and not even in the way that they were secretly in love with each other and scared to tell the other (which would be obvious) but we got internal monologues for BOTH and NEITHER of them had those feelings or realizations until some time after they were married. Like the author drained any sort of romance that could’ve taken place in this book. Second, the mystery. SPOILER- That girl should’ve been D. E. A. D. with the lack of urgency this cast of characters had. Like the book literally paused the whole mystery aspect for a large chunk where no investigation was happening, had a whole WEDDING while people you are SOOO close to are missing?! and then EVENTUALLY get back to the mystery. And even then it wasn’t done in an interesting way. It was very boring, no twists or turns, no surprises, and it was like too easy. Like the book was the characters saying ā€œwe’re going to do thisā€ and then explaining the characters doing just that, no hiccups or quick thinking really needed at all. It just felt uninspired. by @ashsbooksta

July TBR ā›µļøšŸ¦€šŸ’„šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øYou may think this TBR looks a bittttt familiar… well you’re right HAHA. It’s the exact same TBR as my June TBR because I didn’t have a chance to read any of them last month. In my defense!!! I did have an eye injury that made reading not a reality when I was trying to open my eye without pain LOL. I really do need to lock in this month and read a lot, I honestly miss it 😭What are you reading this month? 🤭 by @ashsbooksta
