📍 The Trinnacle - this has been on my bucket list for years! Today I finally got the chance to tick it off! I very fortunately met a friendly local who took me on an alternative route which led us on a grade 1 scramble up and over a waterfall to top of Ashway Rocks which is where the rock was located! A short climb and some epic photos before heading back down!

Dinorwic Quarry

Excited to get back here soon for some more sketchy climbing and exploring, the Dinorwic quarry in North Wales was the second largest slate quarry in the world which has now been dormant for years.

Mountain View’s of Snowdon and some incredible options to get the blood pumping this place is a real treat for adrenaline junkies and hikers alike…

The Forgotten Tor - 14.8km - 755m Elevation Gain

This months hike saw us taking on the mission of finding one of Dartmoors least visited Tors ‘Hockinston Tor’

The route in question took us to Sharp Tor first of all where we could get a Birds Eye view of our entire hike before heading down into the valley brushing through fields of ferns and coming to our first check point on Lucky Tor…

A quick climb to the top and some light bouldering for some members we were ready to head on.

Hockinstons Tor was the goal for the day and we set off hand railing the river dart and scrambling over rocks while working as a team for any particularly sketchy parts 😅

After what seemed like an eternity we finally stumbled upon the forgotten tor where we had a spot of lunch and took in the views over the canopy of trees below!

Our exit from this tor was much the same, meandering our way through thick bracken and brambles alike with our eyes set on Bench tor on the other side of the valley!

This was our third visit to Bench Tor and a well earned rest after the incline up from the river!

From here we headed down the Venford Falls and one more crossing of the river led us back to where we had started!

An adventurous amble from all on potentially our most ruthless hike yet!

The Hunt For The Hidden Pool 22/8

Our hunt for the hidden pool was an eventful hike to say the least what started as a peaceful walk in the countryside quickly turned into a MMH classic.

Our route started with bagging Mel tor and Aish tor before heading down to a the river dart in search of the hidden pool - a few km of stumbling and clambering over rocks we had finally found it and were ready to have a dip 🏊🏼‍♂️

The river was freezing 🥶😂 much to our surprise and a courageous few braved the water while the rest had a breather and got some scran in.

Our departure from here is where things got gnarly, we crossed rivers scrambled inclines and made our way to the top of the valley while demonstrating impeccable team work only to be met with a field of gorse

(We did however stumble upon an insanely beautiful spot for a wild swim)

A few scratched legs later and some excellent navigating with spirits still high we managed to conquere the wall of gorse and scrambled our way back to the top of Mel Tor and back to the car…

Another staple in the chronicles that is @moormileshikers 😅
