Something exciting is happening in Ashton! We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Ashton Square Art Corner — a new public art project celebrating the stories, heritage and communities that make Ashton-in-Makerfield such a special place. As part of Our Future Ashton, we’re working with talented ceramicist and collage artist Carrie Reichardt to create a vibrant ceramic mural inspired by Ashton’s people, history and identity. And the best part? Everyone can be part of it. We’re inviting local residents, families and visitors to help create individual ceramic tiles that will become part of the finished artwork — leaving a lasting mark on Ashton Square for everyone to enjoy. No previous experience is needed. Whether you’re young or old, creative or just curious, come along, get involved and help shape a piece of Ashton’s future. Greensway Shopping Centre, Ashton-in-Makerfield Drop-in sessions available 11am–2pm All materials provided All ages welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult) Link in bio! This is just the beginning - exciting things are happening in Ashton and we can’t wait to see the community come together to create something truly special. Find out more and get involved #OurFutureAshton #AshtonInMakerfield #PublicArt #CommunityArt #AshtonSquare @outhousemcr @everydaywigan @visitwigan by @ashton.square

The best thing about Ashton in Makerfield? The people. We’re looking for the makers, creators, founders, musicians, bakers, builders and community champions who make this town what it is. Ashton Square is being built for the community and we want to celebrate the people who help shape it. Know someone doing something great? Or is that person you? Tell us your story and you could feature in our Made in Makerfield campaign. Because this square is made for Ashton. Email us info@ashtonsquare.co.uk if interested and we will share more information. ❤️ taken in Ashton in Makerfield by @ashton.square
