30 years ago, a diva was born. Along the way, that diva met a couple of dolls. And we’ve been blessed every day since. I love my laney pooh more than anything 💜 welcome to the third floor ✨ (also #fitcheck) #happybirthday by @asiamhicks

Too many people told me to post this as a Reel 😭 #mwah by @asiamhicks

Happy 3rd birthday to my sobriety!
Another year of having a clear mind, all of my (remaining) brain cells in tact! Very grateful for the community of friends I have around me that has supported me through my many bouts with addiction. Thank you for loving me and showing me grace, even when I was a raging pill monster that didn’t deserve it. It has never been easy, but every day gets a little more manageable. And it makes living life all the more enjoyable. I’m 30 and I’m 3 years sober and I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE 🔥 🤘🏾

3 down, a million to go! 💗 by @asiamhicks

10 months ago, I planned the vacation of my dreams to visit my longtime friend and soulmate, Stefani.

We hadn’t seen each other in 10 YEARS, but we’ve remained a constant in each other’s lives ever since the day we met at a theatre dept pre-game party our first day together at WMU. Nothing changed even when she moved a thousand miles away to live out her dreams in LA. Our FaceTimes became sacred. We’d spend hours every few weeks/months, catching each other up on all the drama and chaos in our lives, to share all of our victories both little and big alike. We call it our “Quarterly Reviews”. She has always been my person, the one I could call in a crisis, even from three time zones away.

Eventually, we decided enough was enough. I couldn’t go any longer without seeing my sister in the flesh. So last summer, after a decade apart, I bought a round-trip ticket to LAX.

6 days later, Stefani suffered a near-fatal medical emergency that ultimately changed the course of her life. I didn’t get to actually see her until 8 weeks after, and our reunion looked a lot different than we had imagined.

But if you know Stef, you know she doesn’t quit and is stubborn as all hell.

She has beaten every odd imaginable and worked unbelievably hard to reclaim her mind and body. 10 months ago, she was in a coma. Yesterday, we danced the night away at friggin’ Disneyland Pride Night!

My girl went all the way from a ventilator to the dance floor!!!

I’m so grateful to her family for the incredible care they’ve given her, for pushing her, supporting her, and always doing everything they can to make her life as full and joyful as possible. The Lah/Klein family are a tribe of warriors.

Stef, you’re the strongest most toughest chick I know and I’m SO proud of you. I’m so glad I got to be here to celebrate you. And I’ll be here for every step that comes next. I can’t wait for our next adventure.

I love you, Stefani Rose. 🌹

Still reeling and processing what an incredible week it was at the 2026 Theatre For Young Audiences USA Conference!

I had the privilege of celebrating alongside so many passionate theatre practitioners, teaching artists, and youth development professionals who dedicate themselves to creating meaningful experiences for young people through the arts. I also had the opportunity to participate in several incredible workshops throughout the week, each offering new ideas, practical tools, and inspiring conversations about the future of theatre for young audiences. Learning from such talented artists and educators was one of the highlights of the conference and left me feeling both challenged and inspired.

Mosaic Youth Theatre received the Corey Medallion Award, an extraordinary honor and recognition of the work our organization has been doing for more than three decades. I was proud to accept it alongside our fearless leader, DeLashea Strawder.

I also had the privilege of meeting Gloria Estefan and Alex Lacamoire and experience their new musical, BASURA, a powerful story inspired by the Paraguay Recycled Orchestra, which is undoubtedly Broadway-bound. Watching such accomplished professionals bring this work to life was truly incredible.

This week was full of incredible art, meaningful conversations, and reminders of why so many of us choose to dedicate our lives to this work. When you’re in the day-to-day, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. This week brought it back into focus.

A special thank you to CTFA (Children’s Theatre Foundation of America) for creating spaces where artists, educators, and advocates can connect, learn, and dream bigger together. I have a feeling this is a community I’ll stay close to for years to come. by @asiamhicks

If you’re familiar with my work, or have seen any of my shows— you know I love me some puppets. Today I was blown away by the incredible work at @centerforpuppetryarts and was taken so off guard by their Jim Henson collection. It was so magical, cried the entire time. Also their production of The Stinky Cheese Man was 10/10 incredible puppetry. by @asiamhicks
