EDIT: 🇮🇩🎬 The film is now LIVE! Link in bio!

I worked with my Indonesian-Chinese immigrant dad at a restaurant for 3 years when I was in high school - the same place he worked at for 3 decades.

Us working together was one of the few times I’d be able to see him in action: charming, humorous, and extremely hardworking.

At the end of every work shift, we’d get some quick food at the McDonald’s across the restaurant and just spend the night chatting… No matter what we’d talk about - whether it it was joking about coworkers or his longing for “nasi gila” back home - he never failed to make me smile.

Many years later, I graduated college and moved out to LA to pursue acting and filmmaking. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve created a short film showcasing what Hollywood has yet to: a perfectly imperfect man loving his son in his own unique, uncouth, and hilarious way. Love you, Dedi. 💛
