Two accreditations and why every business owner should consider something similar ⏬ As Intended is now accredited by the Good Business Charter and the SME Climate Hub. We applied because we believe in what both stand for. Setting that standard within our first week of trading was important to set the scene for things to come! What each one covers: The Good Business Charter covers how you treat the people and businesses around you. Real living wage, prompt payment, ethical sourcing, genuine commitment to customers. Things that should be standard practice but often are not. The SME Climate Hub is for smaller businesses committed to halving emissions by 2030 and reaching net-zero before 2050. We published our emissions baseline and environmental commitments this week as part of that. Why it matters beyond doing the right thing: Clients, partners and employees are increasingly looking for businesses that can demonstrate responsible practice. Not a values page on a website. Actual commitments with accountability behind them. These are two options worth looking into. There are plenty of frameworks out there. As always: do your research, find what fits your business and your values and most importantly, do it for the right reasons. Neither took as long as we expected. Both challenged us to ensure our social value strategy stood up to the test.
