👥 i’ve ridden this train my whole life. stoned as a 15 year old on the way back from running round shoreditch. beaming on the way back from some core memory. hunched over on my phone. dreading some drama i’ll face when i get to my destination. making beats on my laptop. creasing on the phone to a mate. looking out into the fields thinking about someone i’ve lost. i can’t begin to imagine how much it’s seen of me. the moment it passes out onto walthamstow marshes is my favorite in the city. highams park -> hackney downs may 2024 canon sureshot AF7 w/ portra 400 by @asithappens.life

BTS moments for @martinlukebrown live sessions at fish factory studios 🐠 this whole day was so much fun. we breezed through four live sessions in maybe 6 hours. think i speak for most when i say “working” feels a bit surreal when it’s doing something you’re passionate about with friends. the first session “back 2 ya” is out now on YouTube. go watch it :) shot on 35mm film and iPhone director @henrycroston bass/MD @nathanncox drums @mathewswales @matswalesremotedrums keys/BTS @oliverhenryprod guitar @maddyplaysguitar cello @kattnewlon BV’s @jordanmackampa @jamessmithvocal by @asithappens.life
i’ve been gathering what i think are some of the most beautiful atmospheric/ambient records. completely inspired by the way #3 by Aphex Twin makes me feel. i thought earlier about how this particular type of electronic music resonates with me so deeply and has become my soundtrack for moments of introspection, sometimes sleep. records with just the right amount of melodic info to be stunning, yet not too stimulating for my mind. sort of like looking at a landscape out in the country. as a kid my parents would play artists like Enya or Einaudi to help me sleep. i thought how perhaps, as younger versions of themselves, the music they shared with me might have soothed and resonated with them in a similar way, at similar times. i wonder if the music i’m connecting with now will be that which i share with my children. it really is all so much more than numbers and accolades and perceived success. imagine making music that resonates with someone in such a way that they use it to soothe their own children to sleep. you can listen to/save said compilation in my bio. if you have any music you’d like to share - you should <3 by @asithappens.life
change is the only constant. i’ll never find “true” happiness, just as i’ll never be truly sad. i think in accepting that - embracing the dynamic range of experiences to be had - there’s a sense of peace to be found. London Paddington, April 2025 canon sureshot AF7, portra 400 by @asithappens.life
a sea of limes. 🍋‍🟩 they’ve become a sort of mobile modern art. i find them telling of so many things; culture, social status, a sign that you’ve stumbled across one of the city’s hotspots. whether neatly lined up outside a school or carelessly thrown to the ground near a pub. the sight of one deep into their no go zones (which wrongen went and dragged it out here?) or even the absence of them entirely - a subtle sign you’ve left the chaos of the city. a Dalstonite pedaling by in their Sunday garms with a sourdough loaf and some Burford Browns poking out from a brown paper bag stashed in the basket (probably on the way back from Planet Organic). or the infamous beeping of some jammy fucker taking one for a joy ride (even potentially about to snatch your phone out of your hand). brick lane - march 2025 canon sure shot AF-7 w/ portra 400 by @asithappens.life
@axelvalberg playing with fallen blossom on Wilton Way. 🌸 in his native tongue, Axel’s name translates to “Shoulder Whalemountain” which couldn’t be more appropriate for this big, gentle Swedish viking. he also has his first name tattooed on his shoulder - as it should be. wilton way, hackney - march 2025 canon sure shot AF7 w/ portra 400 by @asithappens.life
