Shanteria Mosely's family knew something was wrong when the young mother was unresponsive to their calls and texts. They went to where her phone last pinged, found her car, and called the police. The police knocked on three doors and left. The family continued their search until they noticed Kingston Bradley acting suspiciously while dropping a cloth bag with a bucket inside.

The family identified Shanteria's body part by her tattoo.The family called the police again, only this time with evidence in hand. When they finally returned, they found remaining parts of Shanteria in Bradley's car, along with a saw and bloodstains in his apartment.

But why was it on her own family to find her and her killer for the police to take a missing Black mother seriously? I feel like sadly we know the answer. by @ask_aubry

1929 Henrik Dam found the role of vitamin K in blood clotting.

1940s doctors in the US were administering it to infants to prevent dangerous bleeding disorders.

2026 parents are refusing it because they read in the crunchy Facebook group it's not "safe".

For babies who don't get the shot the risk of developing late vitamin K deficiency bleeding is 81 times higher. According to CDC, roughly 1 in every 5 babies who develop vitamin K deficiency bleeding will die.
