I’ve been on this spiritual awakening journey for a while now. And it has required me to face parts of myself I spent years hiding. When I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ductal carcinoma breast cancer in my 30s, I could have easily given up. I thought the road to healing was about fighting cancer. But through a divine revelation, I realized that when I rang that bell and declared I was cancer-free, another healing journey was just beginning. Beyond what my body had endured, there were wounds in my heart and spirit that needed my attention. I had to look beneath the surface and get honest about what I was carrying. I was a broken little girl out here adulting. Producing. Building. Taking care of everybody. Wearing the MASK of “I’m good. I’m okay.” Meanwhile, I was lying to myself about how much I was hurting. I had to confront limiting beliefs and face some real root issues: rejection, abandonment, broken trust, heartbreak, and feeling defeated. BUT GOD. When I look back at everything I’ve had to contend with and how I’ve continued to show up every day, I’m blown away. God has carried me through moments people know nothing about. So yes, I have changed. And I continue to change daily. I’m giving myself permission to heal, grow, tell the truth, and become who I was created to be. I’m in this fight for real. For my peace. For my purpose. For the fullness of my life. I WILL be who God says I am. And no devil on earth can say otherwise. 🙌🏽 Media Strategist. Brand Builder and Manager. Transformational Coach & Speaker. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but for me, awareness is necessary EVERY month. 💗 When I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, everything changed. I was fighting for my life, and through that fight, I began to understand just how precious life really is. Our lives matter. We all have purpose. And so much of what we keep putting off deserves our attention NOW. I came through that season with a deeper calling—to use my life, my story, and my gifts to help others reconnect with theirs. That is the heart behind The Called Collective. Our first gathering, The Sacred Pause, created space for us to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with our minds, bodies, spirits, and one another. Powerful presenters and our beloved members of The Called shared their gifts. Through honest conversations, meditation, music, and fellowship, we made room to be seen, heard, and supported. Every seat was filled, and my heart was full watching a vision born from my own transformation become a shared experience. We need community now more than ever. We need spaces where we can put down what we’ve been carrying, remember who we are, and find the courage to BLOOM again. I’m grateful I’m still here to answer this calling. We had been planning this Barcelona and Ibiza getaway for a YEAR… and when I tell you everything was trying to keep me from going! Whew. But I’m so happy I got on that plane. ✈️💃🏽 Time with my girls, laughing, exploring, and taking in this beautiful country was exactly what I needed. And Barcelona… I’m in LOVE! The beauty, the energy, the culture. I’m already thinking about when I can come back. 😍 This trip motivated me more than I could have imagined. I came home with fresh ideas, renewed energy, and excitement about what’s next. Giving myself permission to enjoy my life did something for me. Sometimes you have to just GOOOO! Step away, recalibrate, recharge, and give yourself room to BLOOM. 🌸 I pour into so many people, but April needs pouring into, too.
